    COD mentality in PvP

So I classify myself as a casual PvP player in FL, I understand what you should be doing based on alliance and what times nodes spawn, but for the life of me I can't understand Free for All players.
Theres no KDR or a stats book that tallies your performance. Why is it their are so many players who refuse to play as a team and just vanish on the map only to be killed by a party of players, then complain about it on respawn. So many players refuse to take orders from experienced players. Go back to playing COD.

I guess I should have mentioned this first, I choose IMMORTAL FLAMES as my GC. But since I'm only a few wins
from pony I might as well get it then crewhop to another GC.

And for my final point WTF does it take 6 ppl to cap OP at start, really guys.

A lot of people want to play hero. Don't dare tell them to help the team, because most will rage and say "don't tell me what to do (insert swear words here)", "Mind your own business", etc. All the while mindlessly trying to solo a capture point far on the other side of the map, while repeatedly dying and running all the way back.

These type of players aren't team players. But they believe that their solo actions can save the entire team, so yeah it is a COD mentality. This behavior is primarily found among but not limited to western players. Its like this in any game that requires team work, its not just FFXIV.

Same boat. Just started frontlines and Immortal Flames can't land first for anything. The 8 games I have seen first was by sheer luck mainly, or the other GC players were that much more worse then us. I didn't realize Mael was so kingly dominate on Primal Data they win over 90% of the games that I'm in and adder premades can dominate some nights. Theres just no seasoned-PvP culture to immortal flames it seems.

There was a PvP LS shouting recruitment messages the other day called "360 NoScope". I got a chuckle out of it.

I'm on primal data center and I can vouch for the validity of this statement as I usually accrue several kills when I'm on B team of Maelstrom by just hiding near our op after we finished with drones and waiting for these stragglers to come try to cap our op. I can at least understand when marauders and paladins try to solo cap as they can hold their own but I salivate when I see blms, brds, and smns ride up on our flags solo trying to cap it. Those three jobs have no business doing anything solo as they can be killed in 10 seconds or less by any competent melee or tank. Flames are by far the more aggressive team against storm op when compared to adders but the few times adders do do it they usually bring minimum 4 people.

Everytime I've tried to initiate a vote to kick either dead body afk or solo players it never goes through. I'm guessing just an overwhelming deficiency of talk between team and also ppl say they didnt even notice kick option. I'm just gonna pass on FL for while.

All I want is my pony then I can forget the stress of Flame failure but my god is it ever frustrating going 2-12-16 in one week of frontlines.

Playing devil's advocate for a moment - There are times when you really do just need to break off, if only to do what can be done and/or show your team the way.

My last match with the Adders? I was in a B team that completely ignored the add spawns in the center and only wanted to take/take back the Allagan Markets.

Plenty of winning matches of mine, I adopted a hit and run tactic (that worked longer than expected) wherein I'd skip the Markets/Manors/Temple and go straight for the enemy outpost, THEN when they came running, flee (and if with my team, scatter) and regroup/steal the Allagan objectives.

Then of course there are the doomsayers who just want to give up and accept defeat. . . meanwhile I'm taking my 6th solo capture

All in all, I'm not condoning Lone Wolf tactics, but sometimes you've got to think outside the box. Who dares, wins.

No offense, but if you're not with the Flames, you really have no understanding of the pugs we have to deal with. People running off like that speaks much bigger volumes, considering the other 7 need every ounce of help they can get.

ThirdChild, I know what you mean about your solo style, but the ones I'm referring to are to the ones in Dimitrii' comment( a solo Dps that dies in few seconds), there are few times where a person can solo cap without trouble. The players we Flames have to deal with do this continually throughout the whole match and just feed kills to the other team. To pull that tactic off you have to be competent and Flames are not.
