well there's not just the modelling there's the conceptualization also, so from start->finish, it takes a while, for sure.
They said the main sculptor spent 3 years, sculpting all the characters/mobs/etc, in the game.

I'd believe it, if everything is to this standard of quality I'm surprised he went so fast lol, I've always been impressed by SE's graphic capabilities (even the classic ones).
