Strawman argument? Just look the stats up bud. Just shows how it follows typical tank stats. But whatever, keep QQing because they chose it to be a tank.
It doesn't destroy any mythos. Get over it.

Yeah 2.0 Warrior the class that was so trash that they had to re-work the entire job to be more PLD-like in terms of cooldowns so that it could even be accepted in Coil as a viable option. Great example.
You keep sputtering that but reality will smack you soon enough. Cecil was a dark knight, a tank, and then turned into a paladin, a tank.
You really don't know much about that...Cecil didn't tank until he became a paladin

%%Cecil Harvey is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy IV, who also appears in the sequel Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and the interquel Final Fantasy IV -Interlude- that bridges the gap between the two games. Cecil is one of the few characters in the series to change his job during the game, starting out as a Dark Knight, but after a trial and the battle with the first of the Four Elemental Archfiends, transforms into a Paladin.
All this crying over Dark Knight being a tank, and all I can think of is DPS insta ques![]()
Its becoming painfully obvious that our friend simply has very warped memories of FF or hasn't fully played them all.
Samurai's main feature was gil toss, and it was /also/ tanky, and depending on its incarnation it has cover, 2hand(for1hand weapon damage increase), and so on. Its usually walked the fine line between tank and dps, and could easily be either. Good on you for actually remembering most of these things.
