But same sex marriage has still has not achieved the levels of acceptance as many would like - and that made it's way into the game. For all the post on this forum about being gun-ho for same sex marriage being allowed at the same time of opposite sex marriage there are a ton of people against it. I say let the wear whatever they want.

I say let's not push it. They found a way to make 'marriage' into this game that every one should be happy.
It's not really Quote unquote, marriage...so they just named it differently with some zoopidy doo of words lol.
If you can't wear a dress as a male for the bonding...ceremonies...In no way am I trying to be rude but oh well.
Let's be happy that marriage found a work around in this game that a looooot of people opposed to in some way or another.

Thankful you implemented same-sex "eternal bonding" but you need to rightfully support it if doing so.

Patch Notes - tux is unisex whereas the dress is not.

There's an underlying, negative message for support of one gender's decision but not the others.

Long story short, the devs aren't going to ignore the culture of Eorzea and integrity of the lore because of your feelings. I'm sorry you can't shoehorn everything about your private life into every video game.

They don't "make the lore as they go". Most of it has been in place for years. Did you think Fernehalwes was making crap up off the top of his head at the lore panel? Even things like Bahamut being inside of Dalamud was there when 1.0 started. They just hadn't originally planned to bring him down.

Same-sex marriage still isn't a thing in Eorzea, although same-sex relationships seem to be completely fine. Marriage just seems to be a thing of business rather than love. Just like it was on Earth until very recently. Eternal Bonding isn't marriage, and the devs make a really big point of saying that. So nothing has changed except that the devs decided to find a way to bring same-sex marriages in, when they were originally extremely wary of it.

Why are people, who are against forced gender roles, force themselve into gender roles (even if it is the role of the over gender)?
