I agree with the rule but I think a player should be exempt if the wait time exceeds 30 minutes prior to the window popping up. Too much to expect all players to be fully paying attention if a wait time exceeds 30 minutes.

If you do this 3 times in ONE DAY... it's not merely a case of not paying attention, it's a case of not being interested enough to try.
I for one, welcome this change.

I'd tend to agree. I was just thinking of different scenarios on the weekend where things might be busy around my house where the phone might ring, my wife might need me, baby might wake up, etc. I agree it's my own fault if I mess it up three times, but I could easily see it happening twice and then being on edge the entire day making sure I don't miss the alert (which is not how a game should be). I just think it can hurt players who have busy lives. You may disagree and that's fine. This is very different than actually joining a game and then quitting - I definitely think those people should be punished. But if i merely miss the pop-up window - that's a bit harsh.
It may seem harsh but its to stop people fishing for in-progress dungeons because THAT is annoying. I for one never leave my desk when Im queued. And if I have to leave it, I will usually withdraw, purely because I dont like being "that guy" who holds up everyone else. If the queue is long (ie. in excess of 30m) and I need to walk away from my desk for a minute, I turn up the volume so I can hear it if it pops. I very much welcome this change since I for one hate being trolled by players who "fish"

To prevent people from fishing for in progress, 3 times per hour would have been enough of a restriction, 3 times per day seems harsh, especially considering that the FFXIV icon doesn't even flash in the task bar if you're alt tabbed and, for example, reading the forum to pass some queue-waiting-time. If they implement something to actually notify me when a queue is finally found if I've the game minimized, I'll welcome this change with open arms.It may seem harsh but its to stop people fishing for in-progress dungeons because THAT is annoying. You don't need it to flash on a tab. Go into your sound settings in FFXIV and change it so that Sound plays while minimized. I'm almost always browsing the web while Queue'd. I just do this, and I never miss the queue. If they give us an option to give the queue-sound a different volume than the rest of the game, that would suffice. Having the entirety of the background sound enabled, hearing every goldspam whisper and so on, isn't really ideal.
Yup you all think this is just awesome right? right? Bad news folks you better get use to players now joining and going afk and you have to vote kick them or better yet they just go offline guess what vote kick time. What SE should have done is actually made the join in progress actually bring you to a duty thats in progress not a new duty.

I'm not a fan of the change in the way they are implementing it. I'd say 3 times in a short period maybe..... and here's me reasoning for why this is a BAD thing
I hit queue... OH @#$@#%~ I clicked the wrong thing to queue for... withdraw
STRIKE ONE!
queue time says 12 minutes... ok.. I'm gonna go tot he bathroom or go get a drink or snack... come back 5 minutes later to see you missed your queue.
STRIKE TWO!
no all it takes is for something like that or some other reason and you are now done playing the game for 24 hours... REALLY BAD REALLY, REALLY BAD
I know there's a problem with the queue's, but 3 times a day? there have been times where I've queued up and noticed I clicked the wrong dungeon. or I had "join in progress" selected or not selected the way I wanted so I immediately would hit withdraw. maybe 3 times in a 3 hour window or something? maybe 5 times in a day.

Do you HAVE to browse the forum on the same device you play the game? I play on a console so I have the luxury of using my computer for that, but surely your computer isn't the only device you have that can browse the web.To prevent people from fishing for in progress, 3 times per hour would have been enough of a restriction, 3 times per day seems harsh, especially considering that the FFXIV icon doesn't even flash in the task bar if you're alt tabbed and, for example, reading the forum to pass some queue-waiting-time.
