People keep saying "Party Finder if you're under the new lockout", but don't you have to queue your group via the DF in order to get in?

More than once, I've had a Party Finder group unable to enter because someone (other than party lead) forgot they were still on DF penalty from a Duty they had dropped.

About damn time this was implemented and to people that are thinking this is unfair, what is unfair is having to go through 3-5(sometimes more, cough cough ST) withdrawals that will keep wasting my time.

i for one am very happy with this and am enjoying the tears of those trying to pull the "my life is more important" card

All told, it's a good change, I finally levelled BLM in the last few weeks and daytime DF queues as DPS are just a joke. I've got no problems with a 20 minute wait, thems the breaks, but frequently having a further 40 minutes of queue pops generally getting declined within a couple of seconds made it a waste of time for the most part. Very rarely did I see a queue simply timeout to someone being AFK so I don't really buy that. If you're getting distracted enough that you miss 3 queue pops then perhaps you would be better off dealing with the issue rather than hiding in a game? =(

I will criticise it in one regard though, a lesser cause of queue fishing is people trying to join their friends in an existing duty where people have left. Some method of sending an invite from within the duty to people in/on your linkshell/fc/friends list would have been nice alongside this change. One for 2.5 perhaps <3

If you are allowing this (or any other) game to affect your health be it physical or mental, then there are bigger issues at hand than a DF lockout. Put your feet up, lean back some and mellow out, life is much more enjoyable that way.

I'm rather busy during the evenings but I can't remember the last time I completely missed a queue pop (although I do have the benefit of a tablet and mac for browsing etc), I'll routinely sneak in a queue so that the pop window comes around as food is in the oven or on the hob and isn't going to need my attention for a while.

im not talking about me personaly but ive knowen people who take the games way to seriosoly i personally dont care to much about the game cuz im a roleplayer i dont need the dutys personally but i speak on the behalf of others

Try not to forget that the time of day has a huge impact on queue times as well. When I queued during the day time it was rare that I'd get a queue pop before 20 minutes and typically I'd be waiting 40+ minutes if I took failed queues into account (and usually I'd get an ifrit normal, thx Obama~). During the evenings on peak hours it was much better, rarely more than 20-30 minutes all told. This was also on EU servers if that has an impact.

@Kyousha, actually no I didnt exagerate at all, it all depends at what times you play...congratulations, you think that because it doesnt happen to you the rest of the world is not affected either. Average waiting time for me as a DPS is 1-1h30, 2h was the max I experienced and still experience now and then alas

So once I have registered, according to the new rules, i shouldnt withdraw because you know it is a problem eh ?...not to mention as was said, that I cant join let say a Fate group...why ? because I am already registered.

I might suggest to you to widen a bit your horizon and not consider that only your experience is a valid one.

I also hope I didnt read that wrong and it only relates to IF the windows shows up and not while no windows shows up and you withdraw before but as I read it and understood it, once you have registered you are stuck. This will also hold back people from registering altogether to DF, which will contribute to increase the problem rather then reduce it

I'm pretty sure the withdraw penalty is only after it pops when ready and not right after you have registered.

yeah I hope you are right, but as I read is not totally how I understood it to be. Becasue, well lets face it, once you register you are in fact in a group...right ? what would it change whether you remove yourself prior any windows popping up or when a windows pop up ? nothing same situation both will require a new search for a new member...so although I hope I am wrong, I think that once you register you are stuck......otherwise it wouldnt make a single sense but ..hey

For the people with a 2+ hour queue time complaining about this. Are you seriously telling me that your complaining about a potential lock-out when the only way to get that lock out requires you to be in a queue for 6+ hours? I wish I had that sort of time to throw away on gaming.
