Novus stats question

So I've started playing again in the last few weeks after taking a long break since May. Last night I finally got my Stardust Rod Atma and I'm already thinking about the Novus stats.

I've always been one for crit damage, so I was thinking of putting DET+CRIT onto my staff. With the gear currently available (Ironworks) without being upgraded to Augmented, my ACC would cap at 491 without food (http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/O5VG).

TL;DR stats:
INT: 605
ACC: 491
CRIT: 528
DET: 280
SSPD: 469

Finding it hard to get crit up without sacrificing det, so the build itself is VERY provisional.

My question is, has anyone else gone down this route? Is it worth it, or is spell speed what I should be going after? And the big question, which I've never seen answered before, is - do I generally need a higher number in my DET stat, or am I fine as it is? (I can reach 300, but it sacrifices 40 crit points, which I don't think is worthwhile - http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/O5VE)

For Max Damage, you want Spellspeed/Det. You could also switch to go Spellspeed/Accuracy if you need the extra accuracy for progression.

You should be going after spellspeed because it gives you the best damage increase.

Ah, I had forgotten about that spreadsheet (lost all data on a hard drive recently... no backup).

There was a linked thread in there that mentioned the lack of importance of crit after a certain point, and I've definitely noticed (in hindsight) a difference since getting Scylla's gear that my crit rate is lower, and yet, I'm doing a lot more damage with them at relatively the same percentage of occurance (and being 1 crit tier lower).
