    Why not separate Raid Lockouts and Tomestone Caps?

    Can somebody please come up with a logical argument against separating Tomestone caps and Raid lockouts (by job)?

    By this I mean allow people to do coil/obtain CT loot once per week PER JOB instead just once PERIOD. As well as having each job have its own tomestone count (not to be shared between jobs) so that we can potentially gear out as many classes as we want if we have the time.

    It would be nice to be able to experience all the new content coming out on multiple jobs while still being able to commit to a static raid group that requires me to be on a single job.

    No it's not.
    Right now gearing an alt is only possible after you're done gearing your main. Yet if you flat out create a new character you can gear both at the same time.
    It would also give more stuff for people to do instead of running coil once a week then logout until next tuesday

You can't build the game around the hardcore raiders because its impossible to generate enough content FAST enough for those people. Making an alt char is a choice. There's no need to be i130 on all classes in a month when it's fairly reasonable that i115 will get any Job through Coil viably. Pick a favorite or two and gear them to the teeth for optimal raiding and your alt Jobs will still be viable just not "perfect". This community has a bad case of "have my cake and eat it too" syndrome.

    This. One of the biggest advantages and unique systems FFXIV has going for it over other MMOs (except XI if you count it) is that you can play multiple classes all on one character. Except in practice you actually cannot do this. Due to weekly lockouts and caps every single player has a "main job" and then a bunch of secondary ones they sometimes screw around on.

    I MAIN DRG but I can perfectly viably tank AND heal end game content despite my tank and healer Jobs being below my DRG in ilevel. My SCH and WAR/PLD aren't just for "screwing around". You 'main" one class and if you handle your tomestones and Coil drops right you have multiple other classes you can viable bring to raid content if someone in your group is absent. Unless you have no life you can only reasonably carry one alt char or MAYBE two anyways if you're lucky with Coil statics.

    I don't even know why you're arguing against this. You can already have separate lockout for your alt. all you need to do is create a new character. All we want is to have the same benifit but without having to create a new character. There's no reason to be against this other than being jealous someone can gear their alt faster than you.
    And even that would be a pretty stupid reason to be against it

    Only the luckest guys had full darklight set and Garuda weapons for all their job at the end of 1.23

    I agree with this, and I had the lowest drop rate for job gear in secnod coil of everyone else in static. MNK hat and earrings only decided to drop a couple a weeks ago from turn 6, MNK fists 2 weeks ago. But, due to soldiery gear was able to gear up for coil every week, getting BiS drops was just icing. Plus someone is gearing up with coil drops in party, which is, overall good for the party.
