    I've been using an old Logitech Dual Action(the one without rumble!) since the days of FFXI, it's literally flown around the world twice, been used in hundreds of hours of gaming, and it still works fine

    That being said, I don't usually eat while I use it, so I think raseol might be right, it's just dirty. Try rotating the stick around a lot, cleaning what you can get to, and maybe even compressed air.

    Mine used to do this too when I installed that standalone driver from the snakebyte site. It's a shame really because the vibration worked nicely plus function buttons made healing a lot easier on a pad.

    I have a Nyko AirFlo, and my D-pad is overly touchy (making menus difficult to navigate) and has a random tick that cancels autorun when I'm not even touching the controller. Diagnostics test out fine outside the game.

    Sorry, correction: My D-pad is excessively touchy, but my left joystick has the tick that cancels auto-run. So it sounds like it may be a problem in the game.

    You guys should play around with the sensitivity (calibrate) option in the config menu. I've set mine to 0.4 and even though my right analog stick still shows up as "twitching" in the test dialog, it doesn't act up ingame anymore.

    One thing I noticed is that PC controllers tend to be less durable. My logitech gamepad died within a year of use (dpad started acting up, down arrow = left arrow, etc), another one before that within half a year (OX buttons sometimes didn't react). Now I'm using my PS2 controller with an adapter which has been working fine for about 7 years already, despite the occasional abuse

    all I have to say is PS3 Controller + Motionjoy = no problems at all ^_^ seriously I'm playing the PS3 Experience before the PS3 version comes out and let me tell you it's not bad.

    Same problem, I'm afraid. It drove me back to using a PS3 controller. Thank goodness MotionJoy shelled out to get their driver signed in the meantime.

    Having spoken to the company, they said it was a hardware fault - which I'm inclined to believe, especially given the way the problem 'spread' to the other thumbstick over time, too, not to mention generally just got worse. Calibration adjustment was a temporary fix at best requiring ever higher levels of compensation.

    A shame, really; it's a rather nice controller. I'm still considering replacing it.

    Nice to see a thread with some gamepad support for a change. ^^;

    I was previously using a logitech pad styled after the psx design. It started having real difficulty with the analogs and eventually the dpad stopped functioning altogether.

    I switched to the official MS (360) controller and its worked beautifully since. I've not had any issues with the analogs going rogue or ever needing reconfiguring. Oddly enough, years ago when I used an official sony ps2 controller with FFXI (using an adapter) the controls needed regular reconfiguration else the analogs would suddenly go into spinning wildly.

    I was a bit disappointed to find that there just aren't quality psx designed gamepads for pc anymore, as I really wanted to keep the familiar experiance of console play. However, the 360 controller for pc is really well built and worth the higher price if you go that route.

    If you do, I highly suggest only purchasing the wired version. The wireless likes to sleep after just a brief moment of unuse and the game does not recognize it waking so you are forced to log out and restart the game. Same thing if you have to switch out batteries. You can buy a wired adaptor to prevent this, but why spend the extra money if you can purchase it wired from the get go.
