I noticed this too when I started using a wireless 360 controller. The analog sticks are extremely sensitive in FFXIV. When I first started using it, they were calibrated fine, but my character would break into a run as soon as she popped up on screen.

I fixed the problem by going into the gamepad's settings (or maybe there's a setting in XIV's config) to make the analog sticks less sensitive.

Your problem used to happen to me alot in the beta, then I noticed the Calibrate setting in the controller settings in the FFXIV Config. The default setting is 0.2, change it to 0.5, for most controllers 0.2 is too low. 0.2 seems to be best for logitech controllers only so far from what I've tested.

I just started having this EXACT same problem yesterday. Unlike the people who have derailed the OP with irrelevant problems that they experienced with other game pads from different manufacturers, I'm actually using the Snakebyte FFXIV controller, and specifically experiencing the right analog stick sensing some sort of constant phantom motion. The constant jitter appears to be very fine, but apparently it's enough to throw off my camera (90% of the time it's vertically) as this is happening very, very often. When viewing the game pad properties in Windows itself, the cross hair that displays the position of the right analog stick can be seen experiencing a constant jitter, and no amount of sensitivity adjustments in FFXIV Config OR Windows have any effect on this. It's an issue that didn't come on gradually -- it was just suddenly there when I began playing one morning, and despite computer restarts, unplugging the controller and plugging it back in, and official Snakebyte driver re-installation, the issue hasn't gone away. It's not dirt or build-up in the game pad, either -- although I can't prove this by taking the game pad apart, because I hope to keep the warranty intact if I need a replacement, it's a pretty safe assumption because my first time using the game pad was only five days before this issue started, and I keep clean hands and a food-free desk.

I'm completely out of ideas as to what else I can try, and I'm beginning to suspect that it's just the result of poor manufacturing, which is a shame, because I really like this controller's functionality with FFXIV otherwise. The reason that I suspect faulty manufacturing is that if you give a very slight, gentle pull on the two analog sticks, then you'll notice that the right (problem) one can be pulled very slightly outward, while the left one holds extremely firmly in place. I doubt that they actually designed the two analog sticks with the intention for them to be manufactured differently like this.

I'll be giving Snakebyte a call if I can't figure this out in another day or two. I'm interested to ask them just how common this issue is, and find out if it's only come up recently for people, as it has for both of us. That could also potentially be a sign of an underlying firmware or driver incompatibility that may be resulting from recent Windows updates or something, which wouldn't be a big shock seeing as only one version of the driver has ever been released, way back at the game pad's launch in September of last year.

Anyway, dear OP, if you've found anything out in the past week, or if you discover anything soon that may help shed some light on the solution to this issue, then please post. I'd really hate to give up on this otherwise wonderful game pad.

Sorry i took so long to reply, but i ended up given this controller another shot, since it was only 12.99 on amazon, that was a week after this post, this one seems to be working fine, but to be honest, i had that other one since CE realease, so need time to see if the same problem happens again...ill keep you posted!!

I have the same camera problem with my xbox controller. I just thought it was cause my controller was faulty, old or somehow broken, but this is interesting...

There are 3 main options available (they soudnt obvious yes, but well worth goingthrough "each step")

    1) be sure the right analog is clean. I presume you are right handed (90% are, I myself am left handed so i have this issue in reverse haha). You may not think it off hand, but how much dirt and grime etc do you gather from eating/picking things up, adjusting things etc etc??!

    2) see if any of the parts have come loose. If this is the case, you may need to unscrew a few bits. If you keep track of which screw goes to which section, you shouldnt have much issue fixing it back together again.

    3) worse case scenario, buying a new pad. It happens to the best of us. I personally use a GAMEware pad. It's from the supplier known as Game and is about £16 (not a final price, just rushing it off my head). It has served me through many games and I personally think the quality is excelent (no major issues so far). If anyone has any other recommmendations of brands, pls let the forum (mainly the OP) know of the pros of your favorite controller purchase
