Thread: Patch 2.4 Notes - Preliminary

NIN and ROG's changes to Sneak and Trick Attack confuse me.

In XI, which is where a lot of their moves are from, Sneak Attack took effect when you stood behind the enemy, as per the name; Trick Attack occurred in its entirety when you stood behind someone else attacking the enemy.

I feel like they just switched places and the names don't matter much now.

Well the first issue is comparing it to FFXI. Sneak attack is a 500 pot attack when stealth and in front of the target.. Trick is only 400 when behind. SATA isn't back but when soloing SA is going to be a nice opener.

Kind of hard not to..when it's the same 2 abilities minus the enmity transfer lol. The other FF games didn't have frontal/rear attacking mods.

Yeah, I'm not debating their usefulness now, but their names don't really match up to their origins.

Using Sneak before Sneak Attack is fine, I guess, but the names are derived from positional attacks in XI, not from other abilities.

A name is just a name. FFVII had sneak attack materia that gave the party first strike.

Oil of Time -> Carboncoat
Sands of Time -> Carbontwine

Exhausting...

I think it depend what their weapon's damage is gonna be and the cooldown on their mentra.
but it seems like the devs gave them everything. big damage. attack speed. movement. stun. silence. offgcd attacks.
This has the potential of being wow's deathknight disaster if their weapon's damage is high enough

am i missing something, or where are these skill infos?
