So basically we're going to be dealing with a new OS immediately after the FFXIV patch is released.

Think he meant he's going to be the tank helping someone get to 50 on Ninja.... since tanks and healers are going to pretty much be extinct for a while with 95% of the playerbase going Ninja.

It's on OS update. They tend to be painless upgrades that take a few minutes to apply. Not a PSN maint. So don't see what the prob would be.

True, but it seems that this update is a bit more than the typical one (whole version number and all). Hopefully there aren't any bugs in it, and the PSN servers aren't overloaded with people attempting to download it. In either case, PS4 users should be made aware of this and make plans for if they can't get back on.

But as said PS3/PS4 updates tend to be much less painful than Windows driver updates, windows updates, adobe updates, java updates, etc....
