New one to crafting: Support needed please

    Straight to the point,

I started crafting about week and half ago. Been reading everything about power leveling using levemeters with HQ items, level everything to 15 to cross class, carpenter weaver and culinary to higher level. So I\\'m sorted with all that.

My question is, I got everything to 15 so I started leveling carpenter to get it to 50. right now I\\'m at 26 I\\'m trying to make HQ of items of durability 40. I find it impossible to do it. It\\'s easy to do it with items 5 levels behind my actual ilvl. May I ask what rotations I should be using at that level I\\'m on right now?

The other question is what attribute gear I should be buying for Doh

Thank you very much in advance

Not sure what you mean by "what attribute gear", but if you mean what I think you mean, the only stats DoH cares about are Control, Craftsmanship, and CP. You don't have a lot of options there, either - a given gear slot pretty much always has the same type of stat. Accessories have CP. Belts have Control. Etc. Gear yourself up in the highest level HQ crafting gear you can equip to improve your chances.

Even then, HQing 40 durability items cannot be guaranteed, even if you have a full suite of cross-class abilities available to you. You are at the stage of crafting where you are intended to actually learn how to craft, how to react to materials conditions and make calculated risks. "I'm low on CP - do I use Steady Hand to guarantee that I finish the synth, even though I'll wind up with only 38% chance of HQ? Or do I take a chance, pop Great Strides, and leaving it up to chance whether that 80% Standard Touch and 90% Basic Touch will succeed or fail?"

For your first few crafts, powerleveling through them is typically not a great idea. It's better to diversify, craft lots of different kinds of items so you get a feel for what it's like to craft above and below your current level, and at different levels of durability and difficulty. Fill out your crafting log if you have to. As a bonus, if you sell what you make you'll make a lot more money than you would getting gil from spamming leves (this is why I'm amused to hear hear newbie crafters whining "It's too expensive to level a craft!" while I would look forward to leveling each new craft as a means to make gobs of money).

Is it slower than leve powerleveling? Of course. But when you get to endgame crafting, you'll be glad for what you learned along the way. Successful endgame crafters may make heavy use of scripted rotations - but they also know how to craft things without using rotations. This is especially important when you consider that for many endgame crafts there are NO rotations that can guarantee HQ results from NQ ingredients. A skilled crafter can still render HQ results from NQ ingredients in spite of this.

I leveled all classes in parallel. It's long but i was able to make gil from the beginning and i never bought gear and tools - could make it myself.
I used NQ gear and tools and sold NQ items till i reached lvl 30 - after this level there is no problems to produce HQ from HQ materials. Further leveling allows to to replace some HQ materials to NQ.
I used for leveling GC supply missions, but most of exp was from produceing items for sale. Also i used Ixali quests and leves to speedup leveling of bad salable classes - mostly cln, alc and crp... sometimes armorer.

On Sargantanas I have every craft to 50, none fully mastered. But I have an alt on Jenova to play with friends.

The Jenova alt is CUL 21? 22? mostly from GC turns and making fishmeal. Someday I will get all her other crafts to 15 and then start the Ixal questline. When I do the object will be to hit CUL 37 before she gets sent to the Mor Dhona facilities.

It took me a bit to realize that CUL was the best thing to wear for the quests that debuff you.

most of the 9x item turn in are 5+ lvl's behind that's how u can recognize them. usually the 40 durability ones are 15 instead of 9 and are the same reward for more work.

You probably want to get cul to 37, then forget it until later. LW to 50 is nice in certain situations, but most practical uses for wnII are situational. personally, Weaver or alchemist would be your next best friends. CSII is your go to for progress, and comfort zone is free cp.

rotation wise for 40 dura items at that level, with only 50 crp and 15 other skills, if you need two synths for an item, I have found that using a combination of waste not and manipulation has been working for me. IQ - SH(II) - WN -HT -HT -HT -HT- MAN - CS - SH(II) - WN - HT - HT- HT- HT - BYR- CS will give you 8 hastys for a 40 dura item, use byregots, and still have two synths to make it with.

Keep in mind this rotation takes 292 CP, so you may need CP food if you don't have HQ jewelry.

Hope it helps, and good luck!
