    DPS class question.

I am trying to level a DPS class. I have level SMN, BLM, and I am almost done with BRD. I really don't enjoy any of those. So I decided to see what other people think of MNK and DRG. Not really which is the best overall damage dealer but which one do you think is more enjoyable. Pros and cons would be most helpful. Thanks!

Truthfully, I like both classes a lot. Mnk you move around more to maximize damage but if the boss is turned unexpectedly by the tank or does an attack which causes it to move or turn your dots and moves can continue to progress. Hardest part about mnk to me is keeping GL up. It takes practice and know how if the fight to do so efficiently, though there will be times you loose it due to fight mechanics.

Drg I personally find more annoying than mnk, even though Imain it (until next tuesday). Drg rotation I find at most points in a fight to be less forgiving when the boss is constantly turning at points in the fight or you can't reach flank or rear in other points in a fight. TP consumption and time are eaten at times because of it. Though drg don't suffer from downtime in a fight like mnks do when they loose GL.

They are both strong dps (mnk being better if both are equally geared/skilled) so you can't go wrong with either one. Do you want to deal with GL or harsh positionals in a rotation. I think it boils down to those. Then again some people are better at one than the other.i really like both, and play both to change it up. (Honestly I play mnk when drg starts to annoy me lol, but that's just me.)some people are better at one than the other.i really like both, and play both to change it up. (Honestly I play more mnk when drg starts to annoy me lol, but that's just me.)

If you play MNK, you're going to probably end up spending at least 34 levels as a LNC anyway to get Blood for Blood as a cross-class skill.

You will probably not enjoy any of them because BRD is the one where you push the most buttons and you seem to not have enjoyed that. So it only goes downhill.

Yea I agree Bard may not be at a loss for things to press...But it's still not on the level of involvement that you see with MNK or DRG.

I didn't think I had to elaborate but I guess I do: hits buttons the most variably often depending on Bloodletter procs. You can argue MNK has a higher APM but it has such a zzzzz "rotation" with nothing to really watch for.

MNK is braindead easy to play at 80% capacity, it's only "hard" to play at 100% (never miss a positional ever or commit seppuku, max deeps, beg for Paeon all day). People overcomplicate it. DRG's whopping 2 difficult points are Heavy Thrust and Impulse Drive positional whiffs.

I play MNK and BLM. I enjoy both but find myself playing BLM (until now since i just finished my Novus for MNK) mostly because it's all around better at soloing and better at aoe damage in dungeons -- also requires less effort. MNK is fun though and kind of frantic. Shaving that extra half second off the GCD due to greased lightning as well as having to move from flank to rear and back regularly makes it feel like there's a lot more going on and at a faster pace.

That said, I'd try them both out -- certainly you need LNC up to 34 either way. My LNC is 34, so I don't know how much it changes at 50, but MNK gets a very important opener at 50 which sort of changes the way everything flows for the better.
