What sort of Jobs do you expect for 3.0?

We already heard that new Jobs will be implemented for Heavensward, and even though its speculated that either Samurai or Dark Knight (or even both are coming into play), what other jobs do you expect to appear?

I though of Time Mage but as a healer job. Why a buff role from past FF titles into a healer role instead of a DPS?

I thought a way it could work was it would "reverse time over time (lol)" on allies, as a HoT skill, with some good old Haste and Turbocast skills for DPS to increase allies's Spell/Skill Speed, and with Gravity/Gravira (or Demi/ Demi II) working as DPS skills with the difference that their potency is dependant on the targets HP but so broken that they will chip off 25%/50% HP at a time, rather a small potency buff over time (ex. enemy HP - 100% - Potency: 120, enemy HP = 75% - Potency: 130 (+2 potency for every less 5%), with other spells such as Slow/Slow II and Comet as DPS skills, or Quickcast for allies or self to immediately refresh an allies cooldowns (or at least lower then CD time)

While for heals, it doesnt only have a regen that reverses an allies wounds, but also a shield that would heal a portion of the target's HP dependant on the overall damage taken. (example being, Casting "Return" (for explanation's sake) on a Warrior that is about to take 6500 damage, give or take, in a period of 10 seconds. When Return wears off, a heal of around 3750 damage is instantly given.) something like that.

What other jobs would you like to see in Heavensward?

If musketeer doesn't come in between 2.5 and 3.0. I would like that.

Other wise Beast Master, and maybe Dancer as that seems like that could be a nice support class.

I guess the term "speculation" could be applied to Samurai, but certainly not Dark Knight. That was as confirmed as it can get without blatantly saying the name.

At the fan fest last weekend, Yoshi made a joke about the battle director wearing a shirt but "misplacing it". A shirt with a Batman logo. Specifically, Christopher Nolan's interpretations of Batman, hence Dark Knight.

During Soken's "Music Panel" presentation, he was showing how the music was mixed with track-recording programs. At one point during his presentation, he went into a folder on his computer (all of this being on the large projection screens in the background) and someone sitting in the audience was using their zoom function on their camera and spotted a folder entitled "Samurai". He then proceeded to shout "Whats in the Samurai folder?!?!?!"

Soken seemed to be completely caught off guard and looked directly at Yoshi. Yoshi looked visibly upset. Then Soken smiled and put a finger up to his lips and said "Secret".

I think we can please look forward to Samurai being announced at the London fan fest. Maybe they would have chosen to leak the other job we get, but since it was kind of pointed out, logic says they will just let that cat out of the bag and hide the last job much better during the London show.

On topic: I agree with the 3rd job sticking to the medieval theme as well. We already have Alchemy in the game, but potions/tonics and things like that were a large and important part of the medicine practice during that time period. I think the healer class will be a Chemist, to make use of the healing-type potions in the game that largely go unused.

All I really want are Samurai (tank) and Chemist (healer, gun class).

I would also like Ranger splitting from Archer and getting Bard adjusted to be more of a support class, and less dps. But with how strict our class roles are, I'm not getting my hopes up.

I would really doubt that a chemist would actually use the consumable potions available. Same reason you wouldn't see a gil toss or something and that there aren't consumable arrows anymore. They don't want you to run out of them and become useless.

Not that I'm against chemist, but it would probably use something sort of like aetherflows.

Personally I'll take whatever they put and test it, as it's gonna be a refreshing change of the class/jobs we have now.

Now if only they would revamp the Materia and make some rare ones that you could use magic for non-magic users, even summoning Materias.. I would renew

i'm hoping dancer as a healing class. a DoW healing class.
A DoM tank class would be nice too, though not likely.

I agree with your perspective as well, and that could very well be how it is done.

I'm only basing my opinion on what Yoshi has done in the past concerning all types of content.

    * 2.0 -> 2.1 - people were FATE farming to level characters because the rate of XP return per time spent was better. Solution: Increased dungeon XP.
    * 2.0 -> 2.2 - many non-hardcores were ignoring BCoB because Myth gear was the same I-level. Solution: Soldiery gear needed to be upgraded with SCoB drops to be on par.
    * 2.0 -> 2.1/2.2 - people were upset that you only had two forms of weapons to get (relic or allagan) so Extreme Primals gave another way to get a weapon. This was expanded upon in 2.2 with Leviathan weapons able to also be upgraded to match the strength of an unweathered soldiery.
    * 2.2 -> present - Materia was often criticized as not being useful in the game. They added a way to transmute 5 materia into a random new one with the possibility of it being a higher tier than the ones contributed. This stimulated the materia economy, and at the very least assured that the "elemental" materias weren't being sold for pennies because you could potentially turn them into a crafter/gatherer materia (which are actually quite important). They further stimulated the Materia economy by making them the essential part of the Zodiac Weapons - Novus branch.

...I could go on and on about the changes that have been made to try and incentivize players to participate in content that has been neglected, or to breathe life into materials/items that haven't been getting used. You can buy X-potions on the MB of my server for less than 100gil each. I would only imagine that the devs of this game actually expected potions to be at least somewhat viable, else why even put them in the game? Fan service? Having a healthy supply of potions has been a staple part of Final Fantasy for over 20 years!! They could be instant life-savers when low-intermediate levels, and have even be used to one-shot zombie boss fights!! To be relegated to an item that you instantly discard upon receiving just seems wrong.

So introduce a job that can make use of them? I understand the consumable arrows argument, and tend to agree with you on that note. Plus it would be annoying to always have to restock your potions as a healer when tackling new content. I can think of ways they can counter this (i.e. make potion stacks larger than 99, add a tab to the armory chest for potions for more space, etc.)

Stimulate the economy for consumables. Not to the point where playing a Chemist would make you go broke, but enough to make you think twice about just throwing them away. Maybe give a Chemist a skill that allows them to harness the inner power of the potion's concoction, and effectively turning 1 X-Potion into 10? Or, since we can't trade in dungeon, give them a Trait that allows them to quadruple their rate of "junk" material drops from enemies, and give them a skill that allows them to turn Animal Skin/Beastkin Blood into potions on the spot?

Just some ideas, but either way, I would really hope that the new healer job would get a new gimmick and not just a regurgitation from another job already in the game (i.e. Aetherflows.)
