Why not? The community already hates their fellow man. Why leave the friend list out.
I would also like a pvp system for one on one. infact Id like this feature in the open world, in which you can request a duel with anyone in open world and if they accept you can battle it out. I used to play a mmorpg back in the day called silkroad online and this by far was the most fun thing about the game the open world pvp challenging.
Dueling is super fun, but the way OP described the system it feels a bit to much of an omni-plexic way for a simple concept. Open world single player dueling for fun is a perfect enough of an option I feel and has no after thoughts of rewards and over complex systems.
I'd prefer a duel like in WoW, you challenge someone out there in the world, you have a friendly duel that stops at 1HP, and you win.
No need for rewards except maybe an achievement count, win 10 duels, win 50 duels, maybe get a title, you know.
A good system will be to implement a pvp room system where you can get in to pvp with friends or a premade party just for fun. A lot of pvp based mmos had this system and it was working rly great.
Yes! Would be great when a friend needs a smack in the head, to just go there and give it to them. xD
+1
Really a thread like this shouldn't exist. Its a basic feature that all MMOs should come with from launch.
Many people don't want open-world dueling due to the break in "immersion".
This would suffice.
I understand! Not meaning to say I agree with those people who don't want it.
I've seen arguments like dueling on top of Quest NPC's or amidst monsters just doesn't make a lot of sense.
I think it's a lame argument, but here let me make a thread & let's see what people say...
