    Character/objects blinking

    Hello, I am running the game on a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop with Windows 7 32-bit OS. I have 4 gigs of RAM, Intel Core2 Duo CPU T8300 @2.4GHz per CPU. I have plenty of free space on hard drive if that matters. The video card I use is NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT.

    FFXIV Settings: Windowed, 1440x900, No AA, General Drawing Quality: 6, Background: 3, Shadow Detail: Lowest, Ambient Occlusion: No, Depth of Field: No, Texture Quality: Standard, Texture Filtering: Low.

    The issue I have is: objects such as my character, other characters, NPCs, mobs, aetheryte crystals, etc disappear and reappear frequently no matter where I am. I cannot target these objects when they disappear which is quite frustrating. The objects reappear almost immediately after disappearing, but objects can disappear/reappear up to 10 times every minute. Other than this graphical issue, my computer can handle FFXIV without lag with the settings I have.

    I did not experience this issue during beta testing or for a couple months after release. I have tried various changes to my FFXIV settings and cannot figure out what is causing this issue. I also modified my NVIDIA settings to force FFXIV to run with "vertical sync". This did not fix the issue either.

    I assume you have the most recent Nvidia graphics drivers? You may want to uninstall them, run driver sweeper, then re-install them.

    Usually Vsync fixes this problem, so I don't have too many ideas for you as of yet

    Trying to download latest driver for my video card. I was under the impression that I had the latest driver because Dell never updated the recommended driver for this video card, however it seems the NVIDIA website has a few updated drivers to choose from. I am trying to install the most recent driver right now, thanks for the suggestion. I will update this post once I have the results.

    Updating driver seemed to fix the issue. Thanks again for the tip. I will update this thread if it starts happening again.
