I just came across a group doing this in a roulette, and they wanted me to keep one player confused near the end. What's the benefit of doing this? I can't find any info on this anywhere.

As long as one player is still confused, Gilgamesh won't go into the next phase where he toads 90% of the party (and shrinks the rest). It's a method to avoid this mechanic, but I'm sure it will be patched at some point in the future so that Gilgamesh continues his rotation regardless of whether people are still confused or not.
