Venue Opening times

Hi there.

With the venue opening at 10 AM. How long before that you think one should arrive to avoid standing for ever in queue?

I heard horror stories from Las Vegas, and we me having a slight handicap that would suck
(don't need crutches or wheel chair, but standing longer is not good, I am even not allowed to sit in exit rows because of that)

according to the schedule registration opens at 9.30am, doors at 10am, opening ceremony at 10.30am. I very much doubt they'll process everyone who's attending in only 30-60 mins, I hear the registration queue in vegas was over 3-5 hours? which means a lot of people are going to miss out the opening ceremony and half the day? although I hear there was printing problems.

its probably going to be advantageous to arrive early, very early. However in the UK's weather that prospect doesn't fill me with much vigor ... would be nice to know from an official where the queue will be located, is it outdoor? if so is it under some cover to protect us from the elements? This isn't a nice warm cosy location like Las Vegas where queuing outside for a long period of time is acceptable unless you want to carry your heavy warm coat around the venue all day once you get in

Personally I plan to get there with an hour to spare maybe more. As for where the queue will be located, I'm not sure, Tobacco Docks has loads of entrances although I know a few have small shelter near the entrance, like a canopy type of thing. I think an umbrella wouldn't be a bad shout. An event I attended there before did have a cloak room provided but I don't know if we'll be granted access to it or not.

Yeah there's a cloakroom to store coats and bags but not sure how secure it is. I don't think I can check in to my hotel until probably 2pm onwards but I don't want to leave my stuff in the cloakroom if it's not secure...hmm. Maybe I'll just pack extremely light! I presume registration doesn't close at a certain time then?

I could offer you to leave it in my hotel room, its about a 20 min walk away from the venue. But usually hotels offer to leave your luggage there already, you should just ask them

Aww thanks for the offer I hadn't thought about asking the hotel so will do that, I'm sure they'll have that facility available with London being a tourist spot!

Normally every Hotel has that, I don't know if hostels have that though

Good I arrive early on friday. So I can check out if I find the entrance quickly and how its situated for canopies and such.

Registration opening at 930? I really should read the page for the fanfest better, didn't see that anywhere x.x. Sounds like I should be there at 8:30 to be on the secure side of waiting queues.

How exactly does that registration thing work at fanfest if anyone of you knows? have printed the stuff from eventbrite and my Passport, do I need anything else?

Printing issues shouldn't happen for London fanfest since they are not making nametags for us. It should probably just be quite the queue to get in. Then again.... this is the UK and the UK is famous for queueing up properly

Edit: Don't forget to bring your Nintendo 3DS so you have something to do in line =P

Howdy everyone,

The registration process for the London event will take much less time than the one in Las Vegas, so don't worry about having to queue too long to get in and/or missing they keynote speech. Also if you are handicapped please find your way to the Queries registration where you will be fast-tracked.
