Correction of prices for optional items

It's been three patches and still I can't have the Spring Dress because of the stupid price its materials are put at, and who knows when they'll be made easier to get.

I'd prefer hand over five bucks and get it.

Unless the materials were priced over 70mil I'd understand but that is not the case.
Dude, even with a low level botanist you can make a lot of gil to buy those mats. Even with low level crafts, you can make money as you level them. That's how I've done it. C'mon people. I mean what's the point of playing then if you are just going to buy it with real money anyways. =/

I got my Goobue mount by doing the tribe quests and even though it took a long time and the quests were tedious sometimes, I don't regret it one bit. I'd choose doing quests over paying rl money to buy it (if there was such option) because the gratification is way superior. I'm here to play the game afterall, not to use short cuts. That's just me though. *shrugs*

Afaik you were only able to obtain the items for gil if you have actually received them previously from participating in the events. Meaning in case you discarded them you can re-buy them. But if you weren't there for the event you can't buy them at the Calamity Salvager. For example I never cared for the Horseheads back then and those are not available for me to buy.

When we talk about that, we mean that there was always an NPC during events that sold the old event items (for that same event), even if you didn't take part on it. This was already explained on the next page after my post, as another poster was confused about it too. That has been taken away now because of the cash shop.

Are you also putting out the pitch forks, because if you don't already have it, you will NEVER EVER EVER be able to get wind up dalamud or wind up bahamut? Because you "pay a monthly fee and are entitled to have everything handed to you?

I just know for my part, I won't participate in the cash shop in any way.
And if it visibly becomes an eyesore or an annoyance, I'll reconsider my views on SE.

I've white knighted the game since the days of 1.0.
I defended it against all the cash-or-crash flavor of the month MMOs.
One of my key points was, "You pay your sub, you have access to everything. No extra buying, everything you see in game was legitimately (excepting breaking ToS) earned by that player.."
That point is no longer true.

At this point, it's whatever, because they're only seeking cash shop catchup money from latecomers.
But once glamours of end game raid gear, level boosts, viable weapons, and rare drops start popping up for sale, SE will have lost my faith in this game and one of their staunchest defenders, and I fully intend to exclude anyone I know has purchased from the cash shop at that point from any group I'm putting together.

Forgive me for rambling, and enjoy the last season cash grab.

The cash shop alone is gross and exploitative when you consider that they were very willing to sell these event items in game for gil. And minions like the wind up dalamud and bahamut were bonuses for the purchase of physical items, items I can enjoy very much outside of the game.

I'm not against a cash shop, but keep it to services as they've done in the past. Fantasias, server transfers, or perhaps even the highly vaunted name change. To enact predatory practices after the one year anniversary, where you're celebrating how the player base has stood behind you after such a failure as 1.0... It doesn't feel like player interests are in mind with this at all.

Get rid of the cash shop.
It has no place in a subscription game.

As a customer, I feel offended to be asked to pay more money on top of my sub to get stuff that should be put in the game in the first place. Odin mount should be a reward from the Odin fight. Those minions should be part of a quest, an event or even veteran rewards.

I'm fine with SE selling SERVICES like fantasia and world transfers, but please don't go any further. All content should be available WITHIN the game, earned by players, and not just tossed in the cash shop.
