    More Lively/Immersive NPC Actions/Interactions

NPC's do very little in the current cities/environments... most are stationary, day/night has no effect on what they do or where they go, etc.

Once you leave a city or outpost, you don't really run into any doing anything or residing in the outer-world.

You just don't really see NPC's doing... much...

It'd be nice if weather or time of day affected them slightly, at minimum.

What ideas do y'all have to increase the immersion in this regard?

I think more NPC movement in general would go a long way.

Especially different kinds like merchants passing through the landscape with their chocobo's or NPC adventurer's fighting mobs from time-to-time (ones that aren't a part of FATE's).

I for one would love to see this happen.

The world feels very stiff when it comes to NPC's.

I remember hearing in 1.0 that creatures had special behaviors/temperaments... that would benefit this game greatly.

Uuugh I remember those damned 1.0 goats stalking me everywhere I went. You just want to get them out of the camera but you can't cause their "special" and sometimes jumped you with a badly timed AoE. Ugh.

The focus of the game is in instances, not the overworld. Changing that at this point would take a complete 180 in design perspective.

Compared to FF14: ARR ... the first version of the game and also Final Fantasy XI was more lively and felt also much more realistic..

Anyone remembers the traveling artists in San d'oria?

From time to time there were tents at this square with artists and jugglers around..

not like in ul'dah where these miquote dancers dance all day and night long 24 hours a day ... 7 days per week.. the whole year

And what i also liked about the old version were the great weather effects... the landscapes felt much more realistic than in ARR...

i mean look at this.. look at this! the rain and the thunder in the end.. MUCH more realistic than what we have in ARR.... the wind and all..
    Noscea Rain and Thunder

    Limsa Lominsa

    Uldah Sand Storm

ah god, sometimes i miss the old 1.0. FFXIV
it had such a great mood to it. and openworld map. (i know it has its weaknesses)

To be fair, I do miss the weather and such from 1.x but the BIGGEST weather complaint I have is the stationary skybox >.< clouds do not move... why?

    Oh yea...

There is some fun things already, but it's not enough !
    - In Mor Dhona : an arcanist is looking for it's carbuncle Ruby. You can find Ruby sometimes near the merchant.
    - In Northern Thanalan : you can spot Godberg mining for some ore.

But I'd really like more life in the NPC, if you've played Xenoblade, you'll see what i mean ^^

Yeah. If anything some life in the field beyond preset mobs would benefit the game greatly.

FATE's don't really feel immersive enough, probably because of the giant blue circle & that you avoid them completely on purpose or crush them really quickly.
