Here's an idea; how about Ronso as a playable Race?

I've been playing through Final Fantasy X HD Remaster lately, and honestly, Kimahri is a complete badass. Moreover, though, his entire tribe looks awesome, and would be *EXACTLY* the kind of Playable Race I could see fitting this game beautifully!!!

Maybe also pull a little inspiration from Red XIII and FF8's Moomba's in terms of Hair-styles and Hair-colors, too? Maybe even various tattoos or tribal-paint across their face and bodies?

Seriously, the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that they would make the *PERFECT* Race for FFXIV!!!

Out of all of the many many races that were suggested (in the original thread) Ronso wasn't actually on the list of potential possibilities that Square Enix originally presented (at least not specifically).

Yoshi touched on the fact that they were leaning towards a dragonkin styled race rather than a more animalistic race (bear/lion/wof ronso type)


So, for the time being we're not likely to see this. (As great an addition as I think would be)

I told one of my fc friends that she will probably have horns and fangs and maybe even scales, his protests about not wanting a horrible race were great (he wants lizard human similiar to the cat

It'd be similar to a palette swap in my mind, which is kinda shart since it should be something more unique.
It better not be another boring humanesque race, I don't necessarily want a Ronso race, but something a bit more bestial would be nice.(Cat ears don't freakin' count.)

Really? I mean... why, if you don't mind my asking? The Ronso characters themselves were kind of bland jerks, but they looked really cool, and I loved the whole "tribal" vibe they had going on. Plus, they were basically an entire race of Blue Mages, which is interesting, if nothing else. Give them some red, orange, and brown fur-colors (in addition to the blues and black of FFX), and I just thought they were really unique.

For as much as people clamor for them, Viera are the race I genuinely hate. They're way to "cute" in appearance, and given that we have both Miqo'te and Elezen already, I really hope for something beyond another "pretty, human-looking" Race. And, judging from that character's silhouette, it looks like we'll be getting just that, sadly

Well to be fair it would be a 'true' beastmen race. Currently all of the races are basically humans with a few notable variances.

It would be more along the lines of the current beastmen races (just a playable one), for a beastmen race regardless of whether it's the Ronso tribe or not, it wouldn't bear that much resemblence to Roegadyns other than their sheer size, to compare the two as "overlapping similarities" is a bit odd.

By that logic then the supposed Viera we're getting/expecting are Mi'qote crossed with Elezen. Yeah its bunnies instead of cats but honestly its the same difference. Id honestly just like a new race. One that isnt as much smooth-skin humanoid as pretty much everything else we already got. Something liken to Worgen (WoW), Charr (GW2), Draken (Wildstar), etc.
