People are that conscious of how they spend their free time. If someone finds spending X time to make gil more enjoyable than spending Y time on the event itself, whatever floats their respective boats.

I've been the guy making a killing selling Easter eggs on FFXI, and I've been the guy giving up on that boring-ass RNG and buying the last few eggs I needed. Fun, time & money are weighted differently for every person & every circumstance.

Ya I haven't even looked at the event yet but I remember doing the Shantoto event when my friend still needed it and it was just the two of use fighting with our chocobos. The fights are so much more engaging when it's actually balanced to what it's suppose to be and not a zerg, I honestly wish they would consider making some of these event fights instance based so people can actually enjoy the fights behind then cause honestly, the developers took time to make the event and the mechanics and gimmicks are lost because it just becomes a mindless zerg.
