    Isn't that exactly what they said that they were doing? I recall that immediately following the booing Gondai and Yoshida clarified that they weren't changing the fights significantly, just easing up on some of the harsher mechanics - such as the OHKOs in the earlier fights. They emphasized that the content would still be very difficult.

    Even if some of the mechanics changed slightly, though, I don't really see why this is such an issue for the people who can clear the fights all ready, they'd just have to learn how to skip rope a little differently.

    For the people who feel like easing up on OHKOs and removing lock outs is too easy mode there's also still savage coil.

    To me the real gripe seems less about "wanting it to stay hard" and more about "I want to feel special for completing it so make it so difficult that only a few people can clear it". Otherwise people would be sated by the savage coils, and less concerned about other people having the shiny red axe and pretty armor. If this is the case then the argument is less about "challenge" and more about ego.

    Looks like the patch notes are out and all the angry rants, booing, and protests about difficulty changes for SCOB is for naught. As of this moment, the patch notes doesn't even explicitly say that weekly lock outs are gone. Only that it is now available for the DF. SE will monitor and see and make adjustments as they see fit. So much crying over stuff that may or may not happen, but certainly not yet.

    Actually, they could have decided to nerf it at an even later date due to the protests. They also could have completely ignored the protests. Either way, you can't really know for a fact that it was all for nothing.

    Factually incorrect.

    They already said that adjustments to SCOB was planned for weeks into the patch, not right at the patch.

    Re-read what I wrote. "At an even later date". I didn't say that they planned it for this patch.

    I was addressing that persons assumption that the protests "are for naught". Unless a dev posts(or talks) about it, you never know what player feedback influences dev choices. Player feedback, for or against a nerf, is good and I don't think it should be discouraged completely.

    There is no direct nerfs or echo right away because they want to see how many players clear it now that the lockout is gone. To see how much echo or adjustments they need to add. They said at fanfest they would wait a few weeks before making adjustments.

    The content is actually naturally nerfed at 2.4 because people have access to higher ilvl gear, tomestone gear, final coil gear that did not exist when 2nd coil is current. I wouldn't expect any echo/nerfs till 2.43 or 2.45.

    Yeah, "No nerfs in Coil" was actually standard in 2.2, as well. Echo doesn't get added until interim QoL patches, and it's eased in about 5% at a time.

    For mechanical changes you can probably expect things like the ADS paralyze nerf, or the various nudges that were done to Twintania.
