Eh coming into this thread to say QFT. I think a lot of complaints about "nerfing" fail to take this into account. There are people like me who have no desire to spend more than 5-10 hours a week on a game. I pay as much money as someone who spends all day on the game. My progress should not be gated behind a difficulty curve that requires a certain frequency of play. Im okay with that being the case at first, but over time the curve should flatten as old content becomes dated. Only new content should have steep curves, as that keeps it fresh until the next patch.

You have 4 hours per week then from what you say here.

My static was casual: I REPEAT, CASUAL.

We spent 4 hours per week on the 2nd coil of bahamut during 2.3, we cleared a turn every 2 weeks. OK??? Ok, now lets move on to the next point, still with me???

The real question is, if your time is so valuable to you IRL and you are so constrained from playing, then why are you playing an MMO in the first place? MMO's themselves take a large amount of time, so I'm not sure why people who barely play are trying to conduct how the game is developed??? Please Do Not assume that the majority of the playerbase are supremely casual, and therefore its the "majority" and they dictate the game because they put in the most money with their subscriptions. I honestly don't see that many people out there who are wailing about how they can't clear coil. Personally, I see 1 player that can't pull their weight, to 7 other competent players. 1 to 7 is the minority.

Because, honestly, this is how MMO's are supposed to be designed, and if you don't have the time to work on something, then you're going to just have to "deal with it" and do Crystal Tower and the other things to do in game, while waiting for newer raids to come out so the older ones get nerfed. They are going to release more casual content for you. And If that's the way you really want it, then great, they are doing that already. But a 15% ECHO Buff and a HUGE Item Level increase is enough of a NERF so can we just leave it at that, Please...

By the time they nerf coil 2, it will be a distant memory for you. Why do you care if it gets re purposed as easier content for everyone else? I'm almost positive the vast majority of players that were interested in the current difficulty have completed or will complete coil 2 before the nerfs fully set in.

At this point it sounds like you're arguing because you like the "idea" of content being at a certain difficulty, even though you'll never touch it again.

4 hours a week is worth an 8 buck sub to me. I mean lets think about it: 4hrs/wk x 4 weeks = 16 hours of gameplay a month. 16 hours of gameplay/8 bucks or so and the value of ARR is about 2 hours per dollar. That's a lot of value. Consider the fact that I only get 1 hour per dollar when parking downtown, and less than an hour per dollar when I go to a movie theater. To answer you question: I play bc its very much worth my time.

I could care less about nerf details. All I want is an enjoyable game experience that allows me to progress with each new patch. If that means I'm a patch behind, that's okay with me. As long as my time investment doesn't have to change in order to enjoy increasing tiers of content I am happy. If 4 hours/wk can't get me turn 5 when it originally came out, I expect it to be possible at some time in the future. I'm not going to change the way I play to have access to the main content I pay for.

This is NOT a motion picture, video games require input and interaction from a real life human being. Just because you FLAT OUT REFUSE to accomplish something, doesn't mean you get to wave your dollar in yoshi-p's face and bribe him to nerf content into the ground and ruin everyone elses experience. If you think that we won't stand up to help keep this game alive with quality content, like we'll sit around quietly while you continue to use a monetary excuse, then you are sorely mistaken.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. 15% Echo Buff and a 20 item level jump is far and away more than adequate of a nerf of past content. And if you still can't clear it OR get friends to help you clear it (people on this thread make me sound like an anti-social freak, so that means you must have WAY more friends than I do... Right???) then I don't know what else to tell you.

everyone else is paying the sub too and enjoyment is subjective.

people are pissed about nerfing content because there is so little that poses a challenge in this game. you either overgear stuff or get instantly killed by 1 hit skills that you take two steps to the side to avoid.
