I swear all people want is content so difficult that no one can beat it, because apparently if the content can be cleared, it is deemed "too easy".

Hmmm, looking for the extremely rare or unique gear/item and end game progress is MMORPGs' life: there's no reason to focus and to handle end game fights if progress and gear are for everyone.
Playing to improve your gameplay, yourself as gamer and as character, surrounded by nice and trusted people or friends: this is MMO (not only RPG).
If you want story, there's lot of offline j-RPG with a way greater plot: I hardly suggest someone in this thread to quit MMO and look around for masterpieces like Final Fantasy IX, Xenogears, Chrono Cross and Vagrant Story.
Still, you will need lot of patience and dedication. If you don't have it, maybe it's better to change hobby. : P

A lot of people here aren't arguing for that. They just don't want it nerfed completely to the lowest common denominator so that you can stumble through it and get a victory. It doesn't breed good players, and will simply help widen the divide between "skilled" and "unskilled" players by removing anything that resembles a middle ground. There needs to be content that acts as a stepping stone to help players improve. Turn 5 still serves that purpose today since Turn 5 isn't that difficult after gear and echo, and It has at most 2 mechanics that get people killed. If they can not handle those 2 simple mechanics that then they are going to have severe issues when T6+ are released in a week. It's not good for game balance to make it too incredibly easy. It would only serve to make the existing gulf between skilled and unskilled worse, and the arguments in threads like these more extreme. It would not be good for the game at all.
Everyone asking for a super easy mode should really consider the broader consequences of such a thing and not just about the people who have a tough time. It sucks to be one of those players who can't beat it I'm sure, but a super nerf effects far more than just those few players who find turns too tough. It's a game balance issue.

And what IS the 'lowest common denominator'? Realize that, again, the end-game community is STILL a minority among the community as a whole. Especially the end-game community that adamantly opposes lessening of difficulties because 'reasons'. I've done near all of Turns 1-5 and people still have to be attentive, still have to be able to pull their weight more should things go south, and still need to be given pointers as to what to do. The Turns that have been nerfed haven't been 'nerfed into the ground' (is it so hard to silence ADS?!) Yes, once lethal mechanics can now be ignored, big deal! Is the end-game raiding ego so easily bruised that a slight lessening of difficulty in Coil will result in internal bleeding?

Yeah, does guys... If they want difficulty, they should go with as low gear as possible, they'll see how it can be hard, like first team did it with what ? 95 ilvl ? Good luck guys.
Now yes, they do it with 110 ilvl, it's like 5-10more then the minimal you need to clear it with an average team, so OFC, it's too easy.
@Tiggy : They can had 50% eccho buff if they want, noob never gonna pass T7, this never gonna be a free kill.

That's not an option: extreme content must be clearable only for few people (or greater number if the server is populated by motivated people) . That's why it's hardcore. There's casual and hardcore contents (CT/ST and Coil), I see no problems in that sincerely.

Oh I understand that completely. SE isn't foolish enough to do the super nerf that some players want, and I know there will always be some mechanics that keep these fights tough enough to make them useful for learning. I just wish people expecting the super nerf would think more about the side effects of that request and less about themselves and to make some attempt to understand why it's good for the game.
It would also be nice if this assumption that all raiders are terrible vitriolic people would go away too. I help people clear T5 all the time, some I see pass it on as little as their 3rd attempt ever (Part of the reason why I know the difficulty is just fine), and I know others do the same to help. This image that we are all elitist jerks isn't even remotely true. Every group has it's jerks and raiders are no different. In my time playing MMO's I've seen just as many casual jerks as elitist ones. Some people are just jerks. Some casual players in these very threads are worse than the raiders they insult and that's a pattern I frequently see in threads like this. Many people from both sides argue their points very nicely and in a friendly way, but the ones that loose their temper the quickest and jump to insults tend to be from the non raiding camp. That's just my personal observation anyway.

If some players want to do Final Coil of Bahamut, and they cant pass T5 with 110 ilvl and eccho buff... They should just stop the game, or just do the 4 donjons and trials, there is no hope for them, they need to understand this (they can blame other players as much as they want, it's not always the others)
I'm ok for a small nerf, and maybe after weeks, a bigger nerf, for SCOB, when FCOB come out, like 5, then 10, then 15 and at the 20, like they did on FCOB is i'm not misstaken.
But, they should never nerf savage mode, and not Final Coil before the 3.0 (savage mode gon na be nerf anyway when ppl gonna do it with more ilvl...)
If they do like this, I dont see anything wrong here, and I dont understand on what ppl are complaining about.
I just hope they dont put 20% eccho the first week, that's too much.

It pretty much going to be implemented like first turn was http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...6/blog/993252/ by the time the full effect happens the Final coil of Bahumut will been defeated and farm by most hardcore crowds. People tend to hyperbole arguement on both sides it to hard or it going to be nerf into the ground in reality it going be in the middle ground area.

In the truth, thinking about it, I also do not mind too much if they put an easy version of last Coil content if there will be no achievements, no titles and no drops for the story mode.
It will be just useless to do it but if people are curious about cut scenes they can watch them with their own resolution instead of youtube them, at least. In that case end game will stay Coil (or new raid name) Hard mode and Extreme (Savage) for people who want more (but need something better than a title, btw).
