This has got to be the most pointless bitch thread I've seen yet. Like.. seriously? They're swimsuits!! Where I'm from girls wear bikinis, and dudes wear boardshorts. Now what is the issue?? They're just adding something for us to mess around with while we wait on 1.19, so just be grateful and stop complaining.. holy shit.

People should stop comparing these swimsuits/bikinis to actual armor that you'd use in battle. These are event items, to equip just for fun so your character can look festive for summer! Of course you wouldn't actually use these in battle, unless it's just for the hell of it.

And to those who are complaining that it's inappropriate, then don't wear the damn thing! This is a JRPG... meaning that of course it's going to be perverted with the ladies! And in general, this game really isn't all that perverted if you think about it, or compare it to girls from various other JRPGs. But it's still perverted in its own ways. I mean, a cat-girl? Come on, you know that lots of guys are known to have a fetish for these things. So simply choosing to be one in the game means you wanna look sexy, unless you're completely oblivious.

As far as typical female armor goes, I don't really see all that much revealing armor so much. Whoever was talking about the coatee, that's not typical armor; it's something to "dress up" your character in, to add to their appeal and to attract attention to itself. So if you don't like how it looks, then find something else to dress up in. I personally think it's hot and looks great on the females.

well I guess most of them complain because they don't like the idea of seeing too many players running around half naked, starring at their female characters and might posting pics and immature comments like "omg fap fap fap" whatever.
Girls complain (yupp I'm one of these girls ^^) because they look way too sexy and a bit slutty, especially with the new pose (and they don't like the idea of women being a sex object) =/ And I guess most of them don't like it how their boyfriends stare at their female chars because they look sooo appealing to them haha =P

woman just don't like to see perfectly shaped game characters, even if they aren't real, guess most of the girls even envy them because they look way too good ^^
I like the event thing and I also want a bikini for this event, but I won't like to see everyone running around in their bikinis doing this perverted pose (talking about miqo'tes xD) Yupp I don't like this pose either. Every other pose is so nice, cute or funny, but miqo'te looks like she wants to be fu**ed XDDDD
I've seen just too many who put off their armor because they wanted their catgirls to be half naked doing this pose, or they wear their coatee to look more appealing even my bf did that... I mean wtf... somhow this is disgraceful >___>

If they made higher tiered mage gear like this I'd be extremely happy. Please suh', no more robe recolours. With the change in some of the staff I do hope that we are allowed more FF styled clothing like this. If they're going to allow for bikinis instead of potato sacks for swim gear, then I'd hope they'd investigate other styles of armour.

A little off topic, but I recognize some of the cities and outer villages have speciall NPC's like Owl's nest. I think in XI they were called Aunties and Uncles, seeing more of those types of NPC's around would be great too instead of random adventure-class NPC's in retextured gear.

I really don't get why people jump on the "swimwear?!? now my female character is going to look like a slut and I don't want her, or women in general, to be seen as a sex object because of this" bandwagon.... It's supposed to be fun and lighthearted. It's a summer event... it's hot in summer and I'm pretty sure the last time I checked most people on the beach (or at pools) were wearing this sort of thing. It doesn't mean that you are automatically forced to act like a "slut" and go cyber with every male character nearby >.>?

I'm female and my character is a miq'ote. I picked a female character so that I could at least look vaguely cute/sexy in the gear that I wear ingame. This mainly came after playing a baldy male hume in FFXI for 5 years.... gear really did not look sexy on this character type! (Well not to me anyway lol). So after staring at a pretty ugly character for all that time I wanted a change- every player wants a character that they don't mind looking at day after day.

The /pose is funny but to me not sexy... especially the stretchy cat paw thing at the end. But that's just my opinion; perhaps some "pixel pervs" out there will disagree :P

Does it bother me that someone might be looking at my character and fapping. No. They can take a screenie if they like, it lasts longer. Do I care that my character may be seen as a "sex object"? Hell no- its a game, ergo not real. How can you be embarrassed about a bunch of pixels on screen wearing a bikini? Although your character is sort of an extension of yourself and personality (or alter ego) in a fantasy game, it is not you personally running around in front of your server wearing this stuff.

If women are really that against their female character wearing this stuff, then fine, no-one is going to force you to put it on to strut around for guys in ^^ If they try then you could always charge... people are always saying we need more gil sinks in the game!

When I saw that artwork I immediately said "oh man! I would so love that outfit" The dress was pretty and cute, the shoes were different to what we have in the game now.

I thought those outfits were very nice looking. We need things like this in the game to take away from the cloned armor.
