    Final Fantasy newbie here.

Hey there, I'm kinda new to FF14, and I'm looking for a server to play on. I like ones with a decent population and can be pretty chatty. I like servers that actually feels like a community. Beside what server to play on, I have NO idea what class to play as, a fan of magic, pets, two handed weapons , and manly fisticuffs!

I'm not going to touch the server question, because I really only play on Gilgamesh, so I'm biased & uninformed.

But as for class: play them all. Once you hit level 10, you'll be able to join the other guilds in your city & play those classes. Once you get far enough in the main story (roughly level 15), you'll be able to travel to the other cities and pick up all the other classes. Try 'em all, stick with the ones you like.

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

Chatty + Server doesn't really seem to happen in FFXIV. Most people actually block the common channels. Talking is usually something done in a Linkshell or Free Company. I go through entire dungeons (via the DF) where not a single word is ever spoken between anyone.

Truth be told, I've been playing for a month and I think I've not said more than a handful of words outside of Yes, No, Hello, Thank You, and Goodbye. Of course, I communicate largely through emotes so I don't have to actually talk.

Revenants Toll being an exception of course. It's an area you will get to around level 40 or so. All of the end-game people tend to huddle around there and chat all day.
