How will Ninja Gear work.

My thought is, mnk gear will be given dex, and mnks will have their main stat changed to dex. Why? Cause it's all but confirmed that Sam and drk are coming, and they'll more than likely be Str users. That would leave 4 classes rolling on Str and only brd and ninja on dex. Changing mnk to dex would even out the gear distribution, and nin / mnk gear would make more sense, as having both Str and dex on gear would kinda ruin the idea of itemization points, and simply make things more complicated.

Why not? It's gonna be replaced by poetry tome gear next week. Worst case u farm soldiery for a day to replace the accessories. Who knows tho. And it's a whole expansion, it's not strange for developers to change whole algorithms around for the addition of jobs/abilities, changing something as simple as a primary stat for a class isn't anything crazy. And I'll be surprised if Sam isn't announced, I was at fanfest and asked soken about it myself on the floor and he simply laughed and shushed me. But you're right it's all speculation. But everything is speculation at this point, it's just a fun discussion.

Yea, no. So basically what you are saying is, SE will change stats around every time a new class/job comes out? Also, Samurai has not been announced at all yet. Wait till this weekend before saying that.

That's correct, however, there has been hints at Samurai. From the image of Nobunaga Oda (a well-known Samurai warlord of feudal Japan) during the Lore panel, to Soken's G:\\SQEX_Proj_M\Proj\Samurai folder. Sure, it isn't a direct confirmation, but it is a massive hint, and is very likely an indirect confirmation.

Why couldn't Samurai be DEX like the Ninja? The "Gun Class" has been in data-mines since 1.0, why would you assume the Samurai is imminent? There are two confirmed additional classes for the X-pac. One healer and One Tank. There could be 10 classes added but atm all we know for 3.0 is One healer and One Tank. DRK SAM and RDM are the most requested classes as far as I can tell. I would assume we will eventually see all three and many others.


DRK for the 3.0 tank. Heavy Armor, Magical Infused Attacks, Great Sword, Life Drains. That is 100% speculation.

FF11 players will want any class from that game in FF14 changed because it doesn't "feel" like said class. That is 96% fact. : /

Not really? I'm pretty sure they addressed this by saying Soken does work for more SQEX projects than just XIV and unless you can come up with something that "Project M" stands for, I can't really see this as confirmation for Samurai. I'm not saying that they definitely won't be putting in Samurai, but a directory on his computer with a vague name that doesn't seemingly relate to XIV at all is really flimsy. Samurai is a pretty big class in general for the FF series and it could be from any number of things SQEX is working on.
