Yea, no. So basically what you are saying is, SE will change stats around every time a new class/job comes out? Also, Samurai has not been announced at all yet. Wait till this weekend before saying that.My thought is, mnk gear will be given dex, and mnks will have their main stat changed to dex. Why? Cause it's all but confirmed that Sam and drk are coming, and they'll more than likely be Str users. That would leave 4 classes rolling on Str and only brd and ninja on dex. Changing mnk to dex would even out the gear distribution, and nin / mnk gear would make more sense, as having both Str and dex on gear would kinda ruin the idea of itemization points, and simply make things more complicated.
Why not? It's gonna be replaced by poetry tome gear next week. Worst case u farm soldiery for a day to replace the accessories. Who knows tho. And it's a whole expansion, it's not strange for developers to change whole algorithms around for the addition of jobs/abilities, changing something as simple as a primary stat for a class isn't anything crazy. And I'll be surprised if Sam isn't announced, I was at fanfest and asked soken about it myself on the floor and he simply laughed and shushed me. But you're right it's all speculation. But everything is speculation at this point, it's just a fun discussion.

So what, 29 STR, 29 DEX, 33 VIT, 24 Acc and 34 Crit ?So if we look Allagan Cuirass of Striking. It will now be equipable by MNK and NIN and include @29 DEX.
That's ridiculously inbalanced.
How so? The STR doesn't benefit NIN and the DEX doesn't benefit MNK.
(yes, impacts parry, but cmon.)

Sorry, but 200 more stat point is gigantic. It'll more than double the parry rate of MNK and the parry strength of NIN...without sacrificing their main stat.
Jobs aren't "stat based". STR doesn't increase "DRG Damage", it increases "close range attack". Since NIN is a close range job, it's attack should be tied to STR, and it woudn't require any change on MNK stuff.
Except they alrdy announced that nin WILL be using dex. I know how the stats are "supposed" to work, but there are alrdy exceptions to those rules. Shield lib, tomahawk, and piercing talon are all ranged attacks that are based on Str.
The parry rate/strength are already quite low for those classes. And this is only for EXISTING gear, for gear moving forward it will be separate. Here is some clarification from Gamer Escape interview: http://gamerescape.com/2014/10/21/fa...naoki-yoshida/
Y: (After checking) Up to level 50, if you happen to have it, you are able to equip the fighter gear. Up to level 50 it is not job specific gear, so as long as you have fighter gear you will be OK, since they have both dexterity and strength. Beyond level 50, for example, the Fuma set from the Crystal Tower, and on that the dexterity attribute is already attached, so you be be able to use that. From 2.4 there will be new specific level 50+ gear that has the dexterity attribute attached so you won’t be conflicting with the Monk’s gear. Each will have their own specific sets of gear.

Post Fan Festival Interview with Yoshi-P and GamerEscape:
Looks like some clarification/confirmation, DEX will be added to existing Monk gear. Gear from 2.4 onward, ninja will have their own set.Gamer Escape: It was announced that Ninja would be using monk gear, but it was also said that it would be using dexterity as a primary stat. Isn’t the main stat on monk gear strength? How do you see this working?

STR does increase DRG (and MNK and PAL/WAR) damage and it has nothing to do with "close range attack".
Main stat simply affects attack power of a class depending on matching table, regardless whether attacks will be close or ranged (DRG/WAR/PAL ranged attack still relies on STR and not DEX and BRD repelling shot is a DEX based attack)
And tooltips... tooltips are not absolute truth and can be easily changed.
