sub runs out in 17 days, how can I pay sub/additional services/items

We understand the frustration that the removal of the PlaySpan, and by extension PayPal, billing option is having on customers that relied on it for paying for subscription fees or for the optional services like retainers.

We are currently working on implementing a PayPal payment option and we hope to have this up and running soon. In the meantime, if you do encounter errors when attempting to register your credit card, please contact our Support Center for assistance.

What's so hard about getting a debit card and registering it on the website? You have a bank account right? Debit cards are just normal bank cards that you can use online as if they were credit cards. Every bank should be able to provide one and if they can't, time to change your banking provider.

Clearly there are other options even in your old post, you just don't want to go that route. Clearly in your other post you have no idea what you are talking about with issue setting up billing address. Pre-paid cards can handle things like retainers, fantasia and such, time to wake up in the real world.

Personally, I'll never understand the concerns. The only way you'll get screwed over is by entering your full card details on dodgy or fake websites. Most business are covered by a ton of security layers, and will refund you in the unlikely event that something does go south. There's also countless fraud detections being undertaken by modern banks, so again there's very little concern on that front either, and when there is they're swiftly dealt with.

There are plenty of payment options available no matter which portion of the globe you reside on. It's your decision on whether or not you want to use them.

Not in all countries can debit cards be used for online payment. For example Dutch banks do not supply debit cards which can be used for online payment. Rather a system by the name of iDEAL is used, see http://www.ideal.nl/en/ for more info. Square Enix however does not support iDEAL. Credit card usage in the country is extremely low. Gametime cards or PayPal are pretty much the only remaining options. And the FFXIV gametime cards are scarcly available outside of major cities. Making it a bit of a hassle for those players to pay for FFXIV right now. Obviously not impossible, but far from consumer friendly.

That's very surprising. I guess not all countries are up with the play. I thought my country, which does offer debit cards, was a little behind.... regardless, based on what the OP has said previously, they don't have this problem.

From a google search it looks like the Dutch alternative is the Mastercard owned Maestro debit cards, which are the same thing as my Visa debit card. I wonder if that's considered a Mastercard? Because the mog station supports Mastercard debit cards.
