Which Content did Yoshi P say would be behind a paywall in the announcement?

The problem is that he didn't say otherwise either.
I also remember when they said that monthly subscription was better as to allow everyone a fair access to all content, but look at what they are doing now? Cash shop.

Yoshi-P can say anything you want to hear, in the end, he'll follow what his boss pushes him to do. And that is: collecting more money from our pockets.
We know there will be vanity items in the shop as well as the mount Sleipnir. Just by the fact the mount Sleipnir will be there is an extremely bad sign because it's a mount people have been asking for months.
That also means there is good chance that any future popular content will end up in the cash shop, with or without the possibility of getting it in-game.

Looking at other companies' cash shops and how the current direction of the game is closely tied to copying other companies' systems, I'm ready to bet SE's greed will lock out content behind the paywall that the cash shop.
And that my dear means less reward available in-game.

Others stated it, it's double-dipping, it's less value for our subscription money, it's an entertainment company who chose to screw its customers.
When SE gave reward to the Legacy players, I was really happy to see that FINALLY one big gaming company was able to put the players first. Seems like it only works when they are begging.

I'm boycotting the cash shop, you can be sure of that! And depending on the evolution of it, my subscription is at stake. I didn't come here to play a cash shop.

Your sub fee is MOSTLY to "lease" you the right to access the MMORPG, anything else is truly at SE's discretion, because whether we like it or not, in order to play the game we had to hit "I agree". Didn't south park make a parody of what happens when you choose not to read the things you're agreeing to? xD

Sorry, but can you reference your source from SE on your sub guaranteeing you access to ALL content? Technically, at least form looking at MY version of the Terms and conditions (the one that appears on a fresh install of ffxiv) the sub only pays for a renewal of your license to access the original patch 2.0 content servers. Technically, SE is perfectly within its rights to make you pay additionally for every single patch after 2.0, including bug fixes. they don't, because they seem to be relatively customer friendly. Your sub doesn't reserve you any of those rights.

Maybe you have a different version of the T&C, though, so please source.

You're wrong. That's exactly what a subscription fee does. With that fee, I now have access to all of this game's content, as does all of the players. Double-dipping is completely inexcusable so long as they are collecting a monthly subscription fee from all their players.

I keep seeing this argument being used. But according to SE that's not true that the fee gives you access to all content. From Square Enix FFXIV user agreement.

".. Square Enix may offer different subscription plans in its sole discretion. Further, Square Enix may offer you the chance to purchase additional features for your FFXIV Service Account, which we call "Add-ons" or "Options." Add-ons may be subject to either additional recurring fees or one-time fees .."

Not that I want take sides in this. But this line about subscription pay for all content. I've never know to be true for any subscription based game and they always have something like this somewhere in their user agreement. So they can sell additional content, if they so wish.

in my experience with many p2p mmos in the past ive spent years on they start to go the cash shop way with mounts and pets as a start, Then adding buffs, exp potions, drop rate potions etc. Then scary to think (housing items) I am not saying they are going to do this but for me it is The reason I left aion after 5 years of paying to play it before it went free to play and adding housing, mounts, pets, etc....
I hope SE does not go that route.

And I agree with that, if it stays to seasonal events where we can not get the item any more or if it becomes content we just can no longer get tt. If they start handing out housing items it will defiantly go too far as long as it remained with glamor items I am perfectly fine with it.

Should actually read those T&C you agreed to. Not a fan of the cash shop myself but I'm also not gonna scream bloody murder over it.

I see it as a way of allowing the game to grow at a better rate and produce more content that people want. Maybe it will let us slide down the tails of dragons whilst we defeat them.

Really, a sub allows you to access the servers to play the content provided. The content given is an incentive to pay the sub fee. The fee doesn't pay for access to the content itself.

And I highly doubt they will go to selling content in the shop outside of expansions. That would a bad idea.
