Yeah I agree. Money isnt the issue for me its that the things they add to the cash shop couldve been more content to the game. Like side quests for a minion, maybe a map that could drop a new mount. More vanity crafting recipes.
if there is something from the shop Id reaaally want id probably buy it but Id feel sad that I didnt get to work on getting rare materials to craft it.

For instance currently im working on getting the mog book for my summonr. I just recently managed to get alchemy desynth up high enough for mog materia so now im working on the battlemateria 3 and might buy the kingly whisker.
that is what i mostly do on my playing time and i dont want them to ignore potential content and add it to a cash store instead

I don't really mind a cash shop if it's just for vanity, I understand the frustration of some people that want the content that might be in the cash shop to be available in game with each patch with the mindset of "It should be available to everyone and not just to someone with some extra cash" but let's be honest here, how many of you where able to get the new "mouse" pet? Or get the materials for the new sets of swimsuits that everyone wanted?

In the end, every time they added something new in terms of vanity it was really hard to obtain in game and it wasn't available to anyone, it was just there for the people that already had huge amounts of gil or to the ones that grinded 24/7 to be able to get the materials they needed for just a VANITY item, I would understand if you would have to work hard for a new piece of gear with awesome stats or the next step in your relic weapon, but for vanity items? nah...


IMO the cash shop is a great addition to the game but I think they should lower subscription fees in order to compensate a bit and maybe in order to calm the people against it.

But they came with content. Not just on their own. Now those items will be introduced with no ingame content to go with them. Thus is the game diminished.

I think the point some people are making is that, sure, you might not be able to get it right away since it's a bajillion gil, but you still can without making an out of game purchase. It's obtainable in the game. Like the spring dress, you can buy it now because the price has gone down from when it was first released and unaffordable to many people. Other than a handful of minions like the nutkin or bluebird, which is still obtainable by the way without forking more money on top of a sub. Just because people can't afford it with gil doesn't make it the same as an exclusive cash shop item.

To these people, it's just more salt in the wound if these were supposed to be in game rewards at some point.

From the information we have, "exclusive" cash shop items are not obtainable in the game at all unless you purchase them from the store. Now if they're trade-able or market board-able then that's an entirely different story but there was no mention of that.

Me grinding for stuff to get a rare vanity item is like a raider grinding coil to get a weapon or piece of armor. They are taking away game content and cash-gating it for people who are not solely raiders. I play this game for non exclusively progression based reasons. Like 85% of this game's content is vanity. Almost all gear is vanity. Housing anything is pretty much vanity. Chocobo color changes, a lot of gardening.... So much of this game is stuff that it isn't essential for you to have progress.

Non - I grind coil for progression, you grind vanity for looks. How is that anywhere near the same level? You basically stated that vanity is game progression. o.O

You're right..I go after High Allagan for vanity purposes...if you're playing the semantics card, everything can be used for the look you like, but let's be real, it's about the content behind it and most content that's purely for vanity are done MOSTLY for tomes, e.g HM dungeons.
