What is this? I have played PLENTY of F2P games and the absolute worst those came with...is convenience(You can buy XP boost...so gamebreaking) so unless I'm somehow missing something gigantic, only a few minions and a mount is behind a paywall...and you guys can't just ignore and must unsub because of that? That's honestly pretty ridiculous.

How about this? Wait till the Cash Shop comes out, if there's nothing in there that is gamebreaking, don't quit but keep a close eye on Squenix from then on. If they go too far and start making it in a way that it becomes an 'I Win' button, THEN you can run off and I can absolutely agree with that.

TL;DR I'm not saying you guys shouldn't be angry, but unless the Cash Shop is actually aiming to be Pay to Win, there is absolutely no reason for this type of outrage as it's coming off more elitist and fearmongering than actually thinking with your heads.

Go look up WoW, one of the largest mmo's to date.

The game has a $15 a month sub, and you can buy a MAX level character that comes with max level professions in the cash shop. They also have the ability to release xp potions and valor point potions, in fact they are already available in the Chinese version and as soon as they can get away with it they will release them in the NA/EU version.

Did the game launch with a cash shop? no. Did they add max level characters and xp potions when they added the cash shop? no. The same thing that happened to wow is starting to happen now to FF.

It doesn't sound like your being aggressive but also doesn't seem like you read much of the recent pages. It an issue with paying for the game and still not being able to get everything. That's not an elitist attitude in the slightest. We pay every month yet we still have to pay more to get some things, nothing is fair about that

I'll admit to being pretty OK with cash shops, but if it ever gets to the point of SW:TOR's, you quit.
Let me tell you my precise point for being annoyed with any MMO: "Goody Bags." Those containers you buy that contain random loot.
Buy.
with real money.
SW:TOR has almost as many of those as the pokemon TCG has booster sets. It's nightmarish.

Yeah...the gambling packs. They come out with a new pack every week or two. lol

If they use the cash shop to first add fantasia and retainers (as they already have) then supplement that with previous years seasonal goods (which are also for sale by vendors during the event next year etc..) throw in some low rng minions and mounts like the primal mounts and things like Nutkin I can't imagine that being a bad thing, there is clearly demand for these minions and mounts but most people don't have hundreds of hours farming primals to get a mount or minion and would happily pay a few dollars for it, some people prefer to farm it but aslong as they are both obtainable ingame and via the shop (I would also expect them to make sure things like nutkin cash shop minions are non tradable as not to damage the market of the unhidden maps) I don't see how anybody loses out.

The extra cash can then be reinvested into the main development of the game allowing them to hire more staff to create extra content and experiment with new ideas and projects that their current income would deem too risky. Furthermore the implementation of Gold Saucer could be host to millions of minions and mounts some being too expensive for your average person to obtain realistically unless they got really lucky gambling or on whatever games they implement in gold saucer for you to buy them with, adding these into a cash shop alongside would alleviate the stress on some players who may want an item but unwilling to give up playtime of progression on coil or new content just to grind gold saucer.
