This is a good thing, and truth be told this sounds more like a "fix" than a nerf to me. Nobody likes punishing mechanics. That's not "fun" its aggravating. In response to a question about Coil. They say they will change the mechanics to be less punishing, but not to be able to be face rolled for coil 2.
To the part stating that the mechanics will be less punishing, the crowd roared with boos. To the part stating that it wont be facerolled, the crowed quietly clapped.
Man it must be tough to try to please everyone. Props to trying.

Most everyone at fanfest was boooing at the thought of nerfing coil 2. And I agree with them they should not nerf coil 2, only add echo. You want to beat it you should play better. Only a small minority want nerfs and it shows at fanfest how like nobody wanted the nerfs.
This just in, a majority of the ffxiv population attended fanfest and thus any reactions should be taken as the general consensus.
Oh so, when someone gets petrified, they won't die instantly. So now you can't just insta-kill them if they get Voice or Shriek. It's a double-edged sword!

Well it could also give people the win (DoTs) after someone makes a massive mistake at 1%.
The main point is that not insta-gibbing when petrified can have some SERIOUS repercussions now.Well it could also give people the win (DoTs) after someone makes a massive mistake at 1%.
Did they mention anything about the renauds? T1/T2 was nerfed because they felt the fights relied too heavily on bards; surprised there's no mention of the renauds when most groups rely on bard or summoner to kite them.
Every job can kite Renauds. Obviously some jobs are a lot more optimal than others.

It's either add super drops for using Duty Finder for coil or nerf Coil
I would prefer the adding super drops to using Duty Finder but they probably ran out of ideas of what super drops to add.
Why would they nerf it when they are planning a story mode later down the road? And this idea of adding echo buff is just lazy. With every other patch gear is getting stronger. Why would anyone need a 20% buff on top of stronger gear?
