Is FFXIV up against the clock?

There will never be any offical numbers given you know that. However 30k~ players is the widely accepted as the best estimate. Thats good enough for me.

'Widely accepted' numbers have ranged from 10 people to 100k in numbers. Now, I'm not going to be all nit-picky about a few extra zeros, but that's quite a huge difference. So such 'estimates' do nothing except cause more false rumours and numbers to circle around. It would be so much better to just say the FFXIV has LESS numbers, instant of actually making it a quantitative amount. The fact that this game has less people playing is true. So stick with that.
