I was wondering how many dungeon areas there are, between Lv15 and 50, unless there's a list somewhere. Earlier, I done the Brayflox Longstop one.

Here is a list: http://www.ign.com/wikis/ff14/Dungeons
This link is also good, it has a list of all the dungeons, level requirements / gear requirements. And how to unlock each one.
http://www.bluegartr.com/faqs/ffxiv/...-every-dungeon
You may also want to check out http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Categoryuty . There are not only dungeons, but also trials you'll need to do, as well as guildhests you should do for gil and xp.
Thanks, those links came in quite handy.
However, I may need to upgrade my crafting skills (still in single figures), as far as the arcanist gear goes (character is at lv34), which require high level crafting maintenance. I may need to take a break from fighting to concentrate on craft skills.
That's great to hear. Many players have probably recommended that you use your leves for crafters/gatherers, and it's true. It is possible to jump to lv.50 in a day if you have enough guildleves and items stored up (and likely a month if you take your time).
Also be aware that you may access the Ixali Beast Tribe quests as well after you complete the lv.41 quest, In Pursuit of the Past. Those will also help you quickly level up crafter classes as well.

It is possible to play without crafters, using NPCs to repair gear and buying what you need off the auction house. So, do not feel that you MUST have crafters leveled.
That said, if crafting appeals to you, then I encourage you to pursue leveling them!
Probably is possible but making enough money to continually buy gear seems like it would be really difficult. Without my crafting classes, I would be one broke SOB.
Not true! For your first class, you should be able to get by on quest rewards (you should be able to get a new weapon and main armor pieces every 5 levels), and there are plenty of ways for a battle class to make money, whether by farming monster drops, earning GC seals or tomestones and exchanging for sellable goods, doing guildleves/guildhests, spiritbonding, or using duty roulette.
Secondly, crafting isn't free. Even if you gather all the materials yourself, that costs you time. If the time spent getting materials and crafting (not to mention the initial time cost to level the craft) takes more time than it'd take to save up the gil and buy it, you did not save money. This is what's called an opportunity cost, and something a lot of new moneymakers fail to realize.
Generally, I advise players to just focus on getting one class to 50 ASAP. This is mostly to focus on unlocks so they can start on endgame, as well as some unlocks like guildleves and ixali beast tribe quests that can help them level. Once they have their level 50 battle class, I'd say level all the crafters and gatherers, maybe even alongside their other battle class (they can all support each other). Again though, that's if crafting and gathering appeal to them.
Nope. As mentioned, for your first class, so long as you go out of your way to do sidequests in each area you'll get lots of free gear. You'll get a weapon upgrade every fifth level from your class quests up to 30, and even then there's upgrades you can get from other classes up there; you'll also get get choices of appropriate gear from sidequests in each level-relevant area, as well as level-50-ready gear from your final job quests. The only things you might be buying from players or NPCs are accessories as there's fewer of them going around (assuming you don't get any as dungeon drops).
Remember to pick up the Challenge Log at 15 too, it gives a lot of free gold and EXP just as you play the game; doing Duty Roulettes once they're available too can help a lot.
