Thread: Relic weapons for New Jobs. Start over again or?

Well with new job being implanted down the line of the game gets older what happens when that new job is the one we want to make our new main and focus on for Relic? I just got my Novus and DRK has been rumored to be confirmed and I want DRK to be my Main *If it's a Tanking class. Do I have to start again for it or can I say transfer the Status of my Curtana Novus over to the DRk WPN and of course my Novus would reset back to it's starting state.

You start the entire quest over each time you want a relic. You still keep whatever relic/whatever stage they're currently on.

They'll ease the earlier steps eventually. I highly doubt they would allow a relic progression transfer.

If you want a new relic, you'll have to start it from scratch.

Well I suppose if they make the steps easier I wouldn't mind *also depen on how easier they would make it like* but what about say 3+ years down the line? By then the Relic weapons would have a looooong quest just to get up to current one.

It's the "you get a trophy just for showing up" generation.

The relic quest as it stands is ridiculously simple and if they raise the drop rate of atma, which is basically the only road block for many, they are going to make it even easier. Starting over again will not be such an ordeal as long as atma drops get boosted. Books take a few hrs each, myth is ridiculously easy to get and they basically hand you an alex each day. So while you may not get it a week after you hit 50 its not THAT bad of an issue.

Plus it may be a whole different quest line they introduce for these weapons and heck they may have a whole new generation of weapons that we need to build from scratch too. Its the nature of an mmo.

The current relic weapon quests will probably end before the expansion and it's highly doubtful that the relics will even carry over into 3.0 content as more than a vanity item. There will probably be a new relic type weapon quest in 3.0.

You have to remember that expansions are often used as a clean start for new players joining with the new release. Having players join, level to 60 and then get forced to do lvl 50 content to catch up on their relic would NOT be taken well by new players. I just don't see the current relic quests continuing past 2.5.

Ah that would help. I mean I don't fancy catching up on 3 years of Relic quest but if you get a Clean Slate with each new expa then would be good.
