This game isn't for hardcore players

This game is to easy and everything is handed to me. They need to add more open world content and horizontal progression so I can be that 1% that has unique and high lvl gear and release more content because these 2 rehash hm dungeons an one new dungeon, extreme primals and raids aren't enough cause I clear them in 1 day I pay the monthly fee and square should be pumping out 10 yrs worth of content every 3 months.
When Elders Scrolls Online, Wildstar and Everquest Next come out Final Fantasy will die because all those games are new and shiny, but after a month I'll be complaining about those game to because they are all lack luster and will have failed because they are WOW clones. If new MMMORPG stop using the same formula as WOW like all games in the same genre us the same formula maybe people won't get bored like how people got tired of Call of Duty.

Doubtful, but this game really does need more in long term goals and horizontal progression. Not for the sake of being "that 1%" but more for basic variety, customization, and engagement in the world itself.

Sadly I do see a lot of casuals leaving to try to newest greatest thing, and SE will lose the player base they are catering toward, and all that will be left is the hardcore crowd who hates the current game they are paying to play.

I'm a bit curious as to why folks equate "casual player" to fickle loyalty? As I've always understood it, to be a casual player means to not devoting all one's free time to a single game. Hardcore players grind and grind to be the best of the best, as soon as possible, while casual players take their time. A casual player, given time, will be as effective a player as a hardcore player, provided that new content hasn't been released that left that particular plateau in the dust.

A player can be casual AND loyal. In fact a casual player is MORE LIKELY to be loyal, as it takes them much, much longer to completely consume the content offered by a game, whereas the hardcore players will quickly devour all there is to be had, and then sit spinning their wheels doing the same thing week after week, complaining about lack of new content (which, when they DO get new content, they use up in a week or two), until they jump ship because they simply can't take the boredom.

There are people who flit from flavor-of-the-week to flavor-of-the-week. There are casual players. These categories, of course, intersect, but they do not completely overlap.

Its a stereo type situation where maybe not everyone in the category do it.. but its a pretty prominent issue with that category. I've known enough casual type players to hop MMOs without ever finishing the content they offer.

I think if this game isn't played from a casual perspective (i.e no more than 2 hours per day) that you'll need something else to supplement it. It's just like WoW: people do their raids, log off for the rest of the week and play something else. Once they get everything they need they unsub and come back with the next content patch.

I'm pretty sure SE has some solid statistics on how many people clear the end game content in certain time frames. Being that they're continuing with their vision I'm guessing what they're doing is working for them. I seriously doubt you're going to see facets of this game convert to FFXI-esque time sinks.
