Ishgardian classes

They sed they we are getting a healer and a tank. My question is what do they mean are we getting 2 new base classes that is a healer and another is a tank or are we just getting 2 new jobs a healer and a tank using an existing class that we already have. I know we are getting a gun using class but is it confirmed if its a healer yet. The base class could start of as a dps but then become a healer with chemist job crystal. As for the tank I wouldn't be suprised seeing a two handed sword user using evasive moves to tank. A Acolyte-Bishop(Healer) or

I will love to have a necromancer I could see that comming I think they intended to put ff11 but it didn't happen bc the dead on came up at night but ff14 does have that isue

I am betting that dark knight will share the gladiator class with paladin and that it will also be a tank. But probably will drop the shield for a two handed greatsword and have high parry and use hp draining skills for damage mitigation and enmity gain.

Liljramos seriously so far they've only confirmed tank and healer because that was In relation to the question asked at the time.

This question was regarding a tank and healer being released when ninja was announced, to which they said they will come in the expansion. They did not though state that only those roles be coming.

With the armory system, class and weapon are linked, so introducing two-handed greatswords has to mean introducing a new class that isn't a gladiator. As for HP draining, I think dark knight is historically the opposite of that, sacrificing its own HP to increase its damage output. It would have to be based on a new dps class, but... they can do what they want I guess. I wouldn't be strongly opposed to a new dark knight concept that is a tank. We might get some clarity on drk as soon as Saturday.

Fully functional? Really? 'cause the Ishgard I saw in the previews looks like a ruin infested with dragons. I think your premise may be flawed.

I would agree with that, but CNJ and THM both have 2-handed weapons in their arsenal. Is it really that far-fetched to think GLA would get it's own 2-handed weapon type that only GLA and DRK can use? I'm sure they could work in some animation and effect changes to abilities in the same way they did with SMN and SCH's "Summon" spell, but this depending on 1 or 2 handed weaponry.

With all that said though, I'm betting (dreading) DRK is going to branch from LNC. With moves like Blood for Blood and Life Surge, it would be in line... even if it would be lame imo. Funny thought; what if that DRG in the cinematic was actually DRK? XD

Would you really be happy though if a job as iconic as dark night branched of of a previous melee DPS class? It was play 80% the same as dragoon with only about 7 different abilities, most of which are combo finishers.

Scholar and summoner only feel so different cause they manage to be completely opposite ends of the spectrum, you can do this with a melee, tank or DPS it will still feel the majorly the same, and to me anyway feel like a waste of an iconic job.
