Ex. future missions won't let you win just by parley'ing, and content will be focused on dom/dow (raids) instead of what was originally intended which was to have like company crafting (giant cakes, ships, etc). At least thats the impression they have been giving over multiple interviews and in some dev comments.
If that's true, then I missed some info, but I'm not so sure that is accurate. In fact, the only two times I can remember statements regarding crafter/harvester support were when asked about crafters getting jobs like battle classes in which they stated that they support the battle classes and aren't meant to be in battles. Since jobs are specialized battle roles, crafters and harvesters wouldn't be getting those. For the life of me, I can't find that statement now. Wish I had saved it. This is the one people are misinterpreting. The second one was in the harvester Q/A which I can produce:

It will still be possible to enjoy the game just as a gatherer, but the battle content and main scenarios to be added will make it necessary to obtain ranks and skills/actions for battle-related classes.

As far as I know, these are literally the only times that "support" has been brought up and in neither case is it stated crafters (or harvesters for that matter) will no longer be classes down the line.
