I hope it comes. Been waiting for it since launch!

Would in a heart beat ditch Paladin for Samurai. But really, to have a folder named after it... must be BIG!
PS3 limitations

I'm rather interested in this new line of thought that a class branches into 2 jobs that are on opposite sides of Eorzea.

Lol, im glad im not the only one who caught the name of that folder. unfortunately im not a member of twitch so i couldn't ask if anyone saw what I had just seen

I'm at the fan festival and one of the attendees asked the music director about the Samurai folder. The music director put his finger to his lips and said "Shhhhh..... it's a secret". So that pretty much confirmed SAM for me. Guess we have to wait till next week for the "official" word and hopefully video of the new jobs. I predict at least three or hopefully 6 if the new classes split off like Arcanist does.

To be fair about the Samurai speculation, they have been talking about Samurais in more than 1 occasion. For example, during the Lore segment, they, out of nowhere, mention Banri Oda and his descendant Nobunaga Oda, who was... a Samurai.
They don't mention Samurai, but they absolutely had the plans to hint to it, or else they would not have the picture of Nobunaga Oda. So, this was planned.
Soken's folder named Samura(i?) may be a coincidence, or not. However the fact that they have been hinting at it is definitely something to take into consideration. Keep your eyes and ears open TODAY, it seems likely that they will drop something else...
...like THAL'S BLOODY BALLS!
Fernehalwes (Koji Fox) is fucking awesome. Huge fan of the guy. Really cool guy.

Eorzean Climber (Noborist)
As long as my SAM can deal large amounts of damage then personally, I wouldn't mind a counter tank.

I'm with you on this. As I don't mind tanking in this game, Paladin has been fun, messing with block builds. So if they made Samurai a tank, and it gained aggro by dealing heavy dmg, and counter moves. that would be great, and I wouldn't care that it isn't a dps class.
The bottom line is, at the moment of writing this post, there is no "Official" announcement of either Samurai or Dark Knight.
However, it has been very clear that Yoshi enjoys his "accidental" leaks. It's fun to finally get to tell what you've been working on. Also, it's fun to get the hype train chuggin' for the next Fan Fests.
As far as both SAM and DRK, both have very strong evidence that they are, in fact, on their way. But you have to be able to separate current fact from evidence. A smart man would be putting money on the existence of both Samurai and Dark Knight as near-future jobs.
As to what roles these jobs will fill (Tank/DPS), that has yet to be mentioned in any way shape or form, leaving us with nothing but speculation. Yes, we have past games to look at, and yes, everyone has logical reasoning as to why they can be one or the other. In the end, everyone has an opinion/desire one way or another, and as such, our 'predictions' are heavily influenced by those desires and opinions.
Samurai has always been my favored class in every FF game that possessed them. DPS is the role near and dear to my heart. I would give anything for it to be a DPS. But, if I'm honest, I truly think it will be our next tank.
Marauder > Dark Knight (dps)
Musketeer > Chemist (heal)
Musketeer > Gun Mage (dps)
Spell Fencer > Samurai (tank)
Spell Fencer > Red Mage (dps)
My guesses.
