* RAISES HAND WAY UP HIGH!!!!*
I'm excited, but not as excited as I would have been if the teaser wasn't mostly a cutscene and had more in-game stuff to show off. Still a ways to go though so it's understandable.
Here's a FFXI teaser from back in the day:

Notice that it's not a CGI trailer? Teasers can be in any format, so he is not incorrect in saying that there would be more excitement to see something actual in-game in the teaser which yes, for some people, seeing in-game is important to get excited, believe it or not. We're in an era where, for example, League of Legends has awesome CGI movies...and the gameplay is absolutely NOTHING like that.

It was one of the teasers trailers from the website back in the day, as you may notice it's missing Scholar..because it was released at E3 prior to the introduction of SCH's reveal at the Tokyo Gameshow.
First link is a trailer, not a teaser. Second link is more like the FFXIV teaser than you think, as the first 2:10 of that video is just showcasing past content, and the rest of the video is only showing zones without any content. Here's a FFXI teaser from back in the day:

the core of a teaser is... to "tease" the audience. that what you have linked goes more into the direction of a real trailer..
teasers are in most cases -very- short.. and sometimes dont even show anything from the game (not even cutscenes)
best new example for this is the Resident Evil Revelations 2 Teaser... which shows real acting persons.. instead of CGI or gameplay.. these scenes wont even be part of the game:
Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Teaser
Another new example is the playable Silent Hill teaser ... and the playable part has also nothing to do with the final product either... :
Silent Hills Teaser (just the cutscene)
a teaser is something like "oh here see, game XXX is coming.." and sometimes a first appetizer and for announcement purposes
hopefully you got now, what a teaser is like :-)
and thats why i like trailers over teasers, too.. but hey, its something that you can look forward to![]()

The teaser we've been given is actually only a few small clips from the full CGI intro for the expansion, easily noticed when it cuts from Derplander fighting (presumably) Nidhogg to sudden daytime and a DRG job change. I'm expecting it to include the new jobs and a bit more story in the full version.
Bear in mind also that they won't be able to show a lot due to the 2.x story arc being unfinished and thus some reveals will inevitably spoil 2.4/2.5 content.
