Atma QQing, why wont you just go away

I have the tomestone from final coil, recently got it last week since our group gives them to dps/healers first I got it because i greeded and it would of just hit the ground. I already finished my relic to ilvl 125 do you really think its worth wasting all those poetics points for a 130 sword ?

Nope , gear up a alt with that.
the zodiac will see a upgrade in 2.51-.3ish range well before expansion
poetics, sol , and even primal weapons are the first to be obsolete to the relic. Minimal stat increase over the Zodiac with some of the secondary stats not even coming close to what you've melded I'll take my SCH +36 crit and 25 Det and 31 Acc over the poetics anyday, as should you take your relic over the poetics. Gear your pally with BiS poetics and then start on your alt

Jeez people. How much are DET IV and i90 crafted gear on your servers?
I can't believe you are complaining about it.
Be pretty funny if SE brought the next stage of the weapon and made it like FFXI where you need 10,000 of 1 item to even upgrade it to one stage but not completing it.
This way you can spend 2-5 years of your life trying to make 1 weapon that gets passed up by updated added weapons from drops, not to mention only a little tiny bit stronger, I don't know about you but doesn't that sound kinda stupid?
Just think about it.
I even think about this now, everyone spent so much time on Relic for a weapon that is basically the same strength as the new weapons that are released.
I have been taking my time on my weapon I see no rush because I know that in a few updates the Relic is going to be obsolete even if they keep adding updates to upgrade its only going to be the same as the other weapons they release but with a fresh coat of paint and look, I guess that's important to people.
Though if they made it like FFXI where it took 2-5 years to complete without something special about it like they have here in FFXIV in FFXI they at least give you a weapon skill with it, I wouldn't even bother with the relic and stick with what comes out.

Now that SE has went and changed the names of the relics to legendary final fantasy weapon names (Excalibur, Apocalypse, etc.) I think it's almost a guarantee that they will continue to be upgraded further at expansion time(they aren't going to deal the Excalibur hand before the first expansion is released and have it remain a level 50 weapon and be laughable within 6 months). I know many thought there would be a new relic questline but I don't see that being the case now that the legendary names have appeared.
Unfortunately what I think might happen is that there will be another relic reborn type quest where players who already have a zodiac such as Excalibur will be able to skip the quest completely (similar to those who had a relic weapon during 1.0 and were able to skep a relic reborn). I say unfortunately because those who had a relic in 1.0 saw their countless hour investment get demoted down to a few fetch quests and an intermediate difficulty battle with Titan HM.

All I hope is that the next stage is not as much of a pain as this atma 2.0 dungeon grind for the legendary. Im going on 30 runs of copperbell mines hm and pushing 20 on pharos Sirius with still no drop which is flat out ridiculous. Not to mention Aurum Vale, which I havent even been able to get into yet cause wait times are tipping 50 minutes easy. And I made weapons in xi, at least that experience was somewhat fun.
I like the Relic Quest has is, without this quest I may have stopped playing this game. I dont do much endgame stuff or care much about Ex primals.
Also, I wouldnt have any weapons if this quest wasn't the game.
