Let us get drunk!

Go on SE, be a sport. I dunno why but it's one of the lil things from WoW (ho gawd I mentioned the MMO that must not be named) that brought a smile to my face when bored. Go buy a few beers, drink, then wander around with blurred vision, your character swaying in a drunken stagger and if you talk the occasional "hic" would appear in the text. :3 Am I the only person lame enough to want such a silly feature? >_>

I'm never opposed to little flavorful additions like this. Makes the world feel a little bit more alive.

I remember how my female gnome would blow bubbles when drunk. And slur her speech. And hallucinate pink elekks and wolpertingers.

We need this in-game.

When you were drunk other character's and NPCs appeared to be a lower level than they actually were, like the game wanted you to make terrible decisions. If you kept drinking beyond the "totally smashed" phase, you would also stop in your tracks and vomit all over your feet.

I think there's an issue with the game's rating or something if they have intoxication as an option for players. Maybe not in the U.S. or Japan (Japan's surprisingly liberal about alcohol, all things consider) but somewhere.

Also, tbh it just doesn't seem like something that would be high on the priority list. Maybe an emote.

I think the eleks and wolpertingers only were halucinated during brewfest

... ok I think this alone is enought to warant resubscribing to wow and turning of 8 mules in FFXI lol

Well, we have prostitution (not available to players), we also have obviously drunk npc. And in those regions where being intoxicated as player would be a big issue, this would also be a problem too.
Honestly, with all those things I encounter in FFXIV I am seriously amazed that it as such a low rating. FFXI was rated higher and was less ... well lewd. And we also did not have brutality in CS like we have in FFXIV
