I'm feeling a little bad about recieving these dyes...

I wouldn't waste energy feeling bad about compensation that was freely and intentionally given to all players.

Besides...they're just dyes. It won't take players long to blow through their handful of dyes and want more for their new gear or glamours, so it's a pretty harmless compensation (especially considering that the only way to profit from these untradeable dyes is to dye and sell equipment).

People keep trying to reason you out of your principles but I think it's good you're standing up for them.

As has already been said, you don't have to keep them. You don't even have to collect them; I believe they're being sent via moogle mail so you can just read the mail and try to delete it, or if you can't (I've never tried deleting mail with items still attached, there might be a safety "feature" that you can't) just close it and forget it.

There's certainly nothing wrong with not wanting what you haven't earned (or don't feel you should be entitled to) though.

I felt similarly when ARR first launched, when we got a free week for the login issues many people were experiencing. I'd had some problems logging in every now and again but not the serious hindrances others regularly referred to (maybe I was just very lucky, no clue really). I tried submitting a ticket and explaining that I didn't need the free week because I was able to play just fine the majority of the time but they said to just accept it and refused to change it. Possibly it was a hassle to change it for one person, I don't know, but it did make me feel a little dirty...

I am curious however if the untradable dyes can be applied to something and then that something can be traded..? Perhaps you can give your dyes to a friend that way if they give you what they want dyed with it..? Again, I don't know, but just an idea.

I kind of feel the same way tbh, but at the same time it was really nice of them. They didn't have to send the dyes out to anybody, they could have just put out an apology along with the fix, then said, "Ok they're available now guys, send those retainers after them!"
