Thread: SE doesn't want my money

Been playing this game for over a year now and was going to renew my sub, as I do every month. But now it seems like they don't want to take my money anymore. Wth happened to the payment system? I usually go to a bookstore or the next gas station, get a 15€ paysafe card and pay for my sub. Been doing that for years, in every game I played it was not a problem. And now they suddenly don't accept it anymore and want me to use a credit card (which I don't have)?

Also, it's funny how ALOT of my friends suddenly disappeared without saying anything. Now I know the reason - their sub ran out and they can't renew. Well done, SE, well done.

My friend is having the same issue. If you were in the US I'd say try applying for a credit card with Capital One. They seem to be the most open to people who have no credit record.

I'm sure they had their reasons for that move. It's highly unlikely the Finance Dept. didn't predict a dip in subscriptions. Regardless, there surely must be other options for people (or at least most people) who were using this payment system. How about getting a debit card and adding the monthly funds for the game there and registering that to SE?

Amazon a 60 day prepaid card. Or since your going to the gas station to buy a 15€ paysafe card, maybe you can go a bit further to get a prepaid card around town.

The ultimatepay issue is something Square-Enix's can't prevent. Ultimatepay decided to end this particular service Square-Enix made use of so players had an alternative payment method next to Credit Card options. This would result in the follow:
Although you can't purchase crysta anymore with paypal or internet banking, you can still purchase game time cards from different stores (be it online or somewhere in the street). Plenty of options available, google around! Game Time Cards are generally even cheaper than purchasing crysta!
Game Time Cards will grant you a "Standard" account, rather than "starter". This means you get to make up to 8 characters on the server you play on. As opposed to the "Starter" accounts for those who had it.
Game Time Cards, however, don't seem to work for additional retainers. The players who had three or more retainers are advised to empty those retainers before renewing their subscriptions with a game time card.

Alternatively: There are online options available for a digital credit card. Users can charge these digital credit cards through paypal and/or internet banking. I have inquired about electronic credit cards with the support desk before and they have confirmed that this option is valid.

If this is the ultimate pay debacle, that's not in SE's control.

They can approve another supplier, but, speaking as someone who works at a financial institution, that takes a long time. There are all kinds of risk, compliance and auditing processes to work through.

I don't know about the US current account (I believe you call them checking accounts) market. But find one that offers a debit card with Visa, Amex or Mastercard on it and SE will accept that. There are literally no high street current accounts in the UK that don't provide such a card as standard.

there was no reason to remove ultimate pay at all. the only thing that closed on ultimate pay was the point system and cards(ultimate pay cards). using paypal and other cards still works.

As for the OP sorry to hear that, maybe you can find a way using the suggestions others have laid out.

OP states hes been using paysafe, if I'm not mistaken thats an electronic online shopping card, as his method to keep his subscription. OP doesn't state he can't use time cards. Another poster below him states it was a change in their payment options answering his question of what happened to his current payment option. So now he can't use paysafe similarly as a credit or debit card to renew his subscription. If he doesn't have a local store within the area with time cards, he can still use paysafe online at places like Amazon to buy the time card because he specifically states he doesn't have a credit card.

Meaning I took the time to read not only his posts but the posts below and also assessed his situation and provided a possible solution.
