Cutbacks on anima cost have been the name of the game since release, including the introduction of favorite camps. Catapult, haven't we already established with the fatigue system that we shouldn't be 'punished' for playing as much as we'd like to?

This thread is ridiculous. Those of you out there who "don't mind running around eorzea" are masochists. Its a absurdly repetitive cut and paste world with nothing of particular interest to see once you have seen it. There isn't any real danger along the way most of the time, your character runs like he's 96 years old and recovering from back surgery.
Why you support a system that
1. encourages people to work around it - i.e. create a mule to taxi them
2. creates friction in parties during transportation
3. creates reasons not to play - i.e. because drinking arsenic is more fun than running for 1 hour from Gridania to some remote place.
Really GMAFB.
Your problem is you are living in the now. You need to think of the future where chocobos and airships come into play. Anima will break this unless it is changed (btw Anima will be edited when chocobos and airships come). This thread is ridiculous. I do not enjoy running around for hours either but
1) The world is tiny.. No idea why people complain about running around in such a small world! It will get bigger granted, but still
2) There are dangers that make things harder.. The other day when I did the rank 34 storyline quest I was shocked to find I could not reach the area I had to go, because every path had a big level 60+ mob in the way >.> Was still a bit of fun though lol
3)If Anima was not created in the first place, no one would complain about Anima, they'd be complaining that chocobos and airships aren't here yet, get my drift? If no one even knew about the Anima system there would not be a problem.
I still think Anima should be something you have to work to get rather than given for free. And I also think it should be third party teleports rather than your own powers. It makes no sense that me as a Pugilist with no mage stats can do something as powerful as teleporting.
I am not thinking for myself here, I hate running around too, but Anima breaks this game so much. Don't worry though, when there is more content it wont matter and anima will finally be nerfed.

If they implement Airships as they were in FF11, i.e. wait 25 minutes for airship, then 8 minute ride, that doesn't really solve anything.Your problem is you are living in the now. You need to think of the future where chocobos and airships come into play. Anima will break this unless it is changed (btw Anima will be edited when chocobos and airships come).

Chocobo's or Horses or Recliners with wheels would be nice to have, but still doesn't solve the over arching issue of needing to get somewhere quickly.
If you think back to FF11 teleports were spells that were unlimited. There were only certain places you could teleport to.
The solution here is to reduce the number of telepoints (and in the process kill the leve system {yes please}) and remove anima cost all together or convert to a spell that anyone can learn and equip and cast. Put Chocobo's at those telepoints.
So I would not say my problem is I am living in the now. I am being pragmatic. Airships and Chocobo's don't solve the over arching issue. They did not in 11 and they won't here.
Everyone is talking like when you choose to teleport that you have the option to triangulate your position into an exact spot on the map. That's not really what I'm asking either. I'm asking for a better teleport system that allows you to go in the relative area (at most a 15min hike) and the ability to do that under a system that is not entirely consumable.Your problem is you are living in the now. You need to think of the future where chocobos and airships come into play. Anima will break this unless it is changed (btw Anima will be edited when chocobos and airships come).

Why do people address problems that are affecting us now, with some sort of solution that will magically come in some distant future......Your problem is you are living in the now. I was thinking about an idea to make it easier on people that run out of Anima: Add a call function.
Usually in big parties, there is always someone that wouldn't like to spend Anima, and then whole seven players have to wait for them to walk 2 maps. I don't use much Anima and usually have enough, I'd like to use my Anima to teleport call that member to the camp I'm at, instead of waiting!
A function that lets a party member call another member at the cost of Anima. That way, people that don't have enough Anima would just get recalled by a member who does.
For example: if a member is in the same area as you, you could call him for 4 Anima.
The call could work for camps, not necessarily to the player itself. You could call someone to specific camp. If that camp is a favourite, it'd only cost 2 Anima.
As expension on the function, a Recall Party could also be added. Something like: "Call every single party member into X camp." It can cost more Anima than usual of course...
Anyway this is just a basic idea...

There's nothing that bothers me more than people who argue online for the hypothetical people who need defending.I do currently have 83 anima at the moment ingame, and I play for hours per day every day. I am speaking for those who cannot seem to manage it so well, and have no alternative but to shut the game down if they'd rather not do DoL/DoH.
Also, 45 minutes to run across eorzea? That's like limsa to gridania...boat ride and all. I cant imagine making that trek often enough to find it worth complaining about.
There are always going to be long walks in an mmo (windurst to cape terrigan), it's a drawback of having a world worth exploring. The idea is to manage your anima so you have it available when you need to make one of these long-ass runs. The true issue here is that they havent finished the world redesign and that there isnt enough interesting environment to make us willing to walk.
Funny you mention Windurst to Cape Terrigan. There's an OP in Terrigan. >.>;There's nothing that bothers me more than people who argue online for the hypothetical people who need defending.
