But I do have problems with anima. If I want to go out to a particular spot to grind on one class, and when done there, I choose not to go to another place I'd rather and shut the game down because I know I'll need the anima tomorrow in a rinse and repeat process. It is restrictive. I'll ask one more time, "Are you a casual player"?

i guess that depends on your definition of 'casual.' I play quite often, but i do have a job and 2 kids. I'm only arguing with you now because i know i wont be able to get anything done since the kids are up and eating breakfast and such.
Just because a player is more casual than you doesn't necessarily make them a casual player. I play quite often, but most of my playing is on the weekend.
That said, i see where you're going. Because i dont play as often as you i dont understand your plight. But i do. I understand. I just dont agree that it's out of your control and requires that the devs cater to your needs. i never said it wasnt restrictive. It's meant to be to a certain degree. In the same way cool down timers, death penalties, and leve timers are meant to be restrictive. But make no mistake, they arent so restrictive that they are affecting your ability to play. The system works as intended. You dont have to like it, but if you're going to play, you do have to accept it. At least for the forseeable future.

Being full aware that the game was in dire need of a better travel system, the right thing to do would have been to increase anima regen temporarily (to something like 1 anima per 2 hours or allow a weekly reset back to 100 anima until the chocobos/airships are in place.

This actually wouldn't be a very bad idea. As you said, it would be temporary. But, knowing the playerbase people would complain once Anima regeneration was back as it is right now (4hrs) even with the option of using Chocobos or/and airships.

And (I hope) we're close to 1.19 so it wouldn't help that much.

I'm sorry, I was not aware i had to be rank 50 to use Anima. I play on and off due to time restrictions and i mess about alot when i do get lots of time to play. I do run out of anima all the time like everyone else does but i dont complain of the lack of anima, infact i suggested ways of making it a working system that will fix the game even if it means more work for me to get to rank 50.

Then, let's put it into perspective: You don't play every day and still run out of anima. Now, imagine that you did play every day.

using people who overextend their mana cuz they have no sense of management as an example is a bad way to do it

these are the same people who spent 1500 dollars of their 1000 dollar monthly paychecks every month i bet

I'd spend less Anima and walk more. Btw my rank means nothing when you think about it, I was in the beta stages of this game. You have no idea how much experience I have with this game really, please stop assuming you know how often I play and how much I have played this game. And stop assuming anyone needs to have played the game to actually see that Anima is a ridiculous design flaw. People have looked at this game and thought it was stupid to have such a system. It's not magical, it doesn't even fit with the game in style or storyline, it gives no sense of adventure, no sense of achievement and it's giving teleports for free (might take time to regenerate but it's still something you aren't working for).

I'm a hardcore gamer myself, I have played many games other than this, including FFXI and I'm not just talking only MMOs. I'm also currently working at a studio making casual games, we tend to get a project done in around 6 months give or take a few months. Nothing on the scale of this game, small games for tablets and smart phones, I've also worked on several average scale RTS games. So it's not like I don't know anything about game mechanics either.

Anima is bull****, it was a cop-out for not having anything interesting to explore and no means of travelling. When SE add more ways to travel and more zones/changed zones, they will do something about Anima, and it won't be to give you more of it.

Still, we can only wait and see in the next patch if I'm right, so for now you can presume I'm just lying to you.

For as little as you have accomplished since January, I'd say that's pretty part-time bud. Or, is it because you have so far to R U N between events?

sorry to say this dude, but if they were getting rid of anima/doing something about it due to transportations being added

they wouldnt be adjusting how its used to further convenience players and make the system better

you dont add something, work a bunch on it, and then take it away, if it was going, theyd have done it long ago working on doing so instead of working on adjusting the system instead witht he things it shoulda had at start
