Duel System

I want to to suggest, why don't ffxiv do a duel request system where players can freely 1v1 regardless of level and with no consequence for the loser. Gives players something to on the side with friends, free company members and strangers as for as testing their skills and showing them off wherever.

I agree with this.

If anything, it could be like the Trade feature wherein the request will get cancelled if a player moves too far from target. I imagine it'd be annoying if random people spammed duels, but duel itself is a good thing. It might help others test their skills too instead of using practice dummies or mobs that can't give feedback.

there is no such thing as a duel when SCH can basically ravage any other class while being healed constantly. FFxiv is a team game, better get used to it.


(I'm not saying that it's a bad idea, just that currently the game isn't balanced at all for it)

I somewhat agree with but at the time as far as SCH go, it's not as if they heal their self forever and will have to eventually attack. And i'm sure they can possible make it work in a fair way. But i'm not asking for it right away, just something they can consider to work on and something to look forward.

I like the idea having experienced such in other MMOs, but I think the maps in this game are too restricted (however they were designed) to allow PvP outside of the PvP maps.
I wouldn't mind if SE will instead allot an instanced area (since almost every event is instanced in this game anyway) that could serve as a real duel arena. maybe allow the coliseum to live up to its name?

When I joined this game in August I remember asking players how to duel to which they replied that there was no duel system. I was surprised to say the least.

i absolutely agree with u. it would be verynice and entertaining.

i repeat.for those who dont want to use this feature just dont use it. but dont say no.... =_="
